I've eaten here several times before and have always been impressed by the standard of food.
The Lahori Korahi serves Indian, Pakistani and other Asian food and is well known for, among other things, its delicious lamb chops. However, on my last couple of visits here, I've noticed that while the flavouring is still fabulous, the quality of the meat is not what they used to be, and can be rather chewy, which is a shame.
The restaurant doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol, but it does allow its customers to consume alcohol that has been purchased elsewhere.
Spicy poppadoms are served gratis, along with a side salad and two types of relish, one of which has a nice fiery bite to it.
In addition to the lamb chops starter, we ordered butter chicken, lamb korahi, chicken tikka with sides of tarka dahl and bombay aloo. We also had garlic and plain naans. The lamb korahi was fabulous and really full of spicy flavours. The tarka dahl and bombay aloo were also very nicely cooked and really hit the spot. The chicken tikka portion size was very generous and, again, was a culinary delight. The butter chicken was so, so, and rather oily, but I'm not a big fan of this dish anyway (my partner ordered it). The plain naan was delicious while the garlic naan was nice, but again, a little oily.
If you love authentic and delicious Indian food at a very reasonable price then the Hounslow Lahori Korahi is well...
Read moreBitterly disappointing - me and my friend waited nearly 10 minutes for a table when clearly tables were available and then 15 minutes for a menu after requesting one multiple times.
Further we waited another 15 minutes to order despite a number of waiters working at the restaurant - cleaning up tables and seating customers down, whilst we are waiting in front of them.
Finally upon ordering one dish the waiter (actually the manager of the restaurant - dressed in casual scarf and skinny jeans who thinks he looks like a model for Calvin Klein) decided to walk away to deal with another matter.
Unfortunately that was the final straw and we left the restaurant - clearly there was no kindness and empathy towards the fact that we waited for 45 minutes to order following entering the restaurant. Ruined the evening and we ended up at an indian restaurant that served food within 20mins of ordering when it was twice as busy as this one.
In this day and age where service is of paramount importance to retain customers, this restaurant failed miserably on the basics of service let alone anything else - didn’t even offer drinks.
Avoid at all costs if you prefer a smooth and peaceful Saturday evening. Recommendation to the restaurant: take a course in service management and hospitality for free which are...
Read moreI went for a meal with a friend last night .... The member of staff cleaned our table before we sat down but we observed that he didn't wash his hands after cleaning and before serving food to other tables!!! The papad were not nice to eat, they don't serve mango chutney which is usually served in most other places with papad. We asked for a jug of mango shake ... I saw one waiter walk past with an empty jug of mango shake he had cleared from amother table and he had gone to the kitchen...within minutes he reappeared with a jug of mango shake for us. (Boiling hot may I add. I immediately noticed this to be the same jug he had taken into the kitchen...the rim of the jug was full of dried mango shake from the previous customer!!!!! I was disgusted and called over one of the main waiters who had taken our order. He was so embarrassed and didnt even defend himself. A couple of sorrys and he thought that was enough !. He tried to take that jug away to get me amother one but of course I didn't allow him to take that jug until he brought me a fresh one ...for obvious reasons. Overall a terrible experience. We didn't stay for mains. Just made us realise they clearly do this sort of thing all the time and probably more, as not every customer is...
