iCakes — Restaurant in London

Absolutely dreadful experience with iCakes almost ruining my 3 year old daughter’s party. I placed an order for a plain white fresh cream sponge cake with no piping or decorative work on Thursday the 6th of October at 10.08am. I specifically mentioned that I did not want any piping or decorative work as I would be placing my own toppers. Fast forward to today and the company outright denies the order being placed because supposedly they do not take orders on the phone (later amended this to say they do not take custom orders on the phone and apparently I ordered a cake with piping and roses on it). Spent an awful time on the phone with the manager and the lady I had initially spoken to but we kept going around in circles with them effectively implying that I am lying. Alas, after a lot of exchange of words and initial refusal to do anything about it, the manager relented and offered a solution that a cake could be made within the timeframe that I needed it for. But of course I had no trust that they would complete the order in time. This will be the last time I will engage with these guys given the atrocious end to end...

I placed a custom order for my brother’s 18th birthday party at the Gantshill branch. The staff took her time and paid attention to the little details I wanted which I appreciate. However, the results did not match my expectations at all. I looked at their Instagram and saw that their work was neat but my order was not made to the same standard. The cake didn’t look neat and even started sloping to one side after a few hours. The main issue was the colouring used for icing. It was so strong that it was staining the surroundings and people’s teeth. My brother had to go and brush his teeth because the staining was so bad. I called the shop to let them know about the colouring issue and they said I should have been warned about this when placing my order, which I was not. I have ordered dark colour cakes before from previous places but did not end up with such a mess. I’m truly disappointed that I paid £90...

If I could give 0 stars I would I paid for 2 cupcakes what was £7.50 I was in hospital and couldn’t come collect my cupcakes due to complications in my pregnancy I came when I could and now there refusing to give me my money or my cupcakes this is disgusting and I want either my money or cakes. They’re going round in circles saying that they can’t give me nothing when I paid for my service I’m so shocked that they can rob people and not put this in the terms and conditions . The man in the back was racist laughing at me like I’m some kind off joke making a pregnant woman cry your disgusting. I paid £7.50 for 2 cupcakes and he wanted to give me 2 £1.80 cupcakes...
