We came here for a friends birthday. I ordered the panko prawns, the sea bream, the aubergine and the spicy tuna maki. They were all tasty, especially the aubergine. However, that doesn’t justify the ridiculous pricing of the food, a tiny fillet of sea bream and 3 cherry tomatoes was £17 and that was the cheapest option for a pescatarian. You can get the same quality of food for much cheaper at other places. To be honest, I would have been less annoyed paying for the extremely overpriced food had the service been good but it was terrible. They bought over items we didn’t order and got visibly annoyed when we told them we didn’t order it. We had bought cupcakes for our friend for her birthday, and despite our bill being over £350 we were told we weren’t allowed to eat them in the restaurant unless we ordered dessert from them too. We agreed not to eat the cupcakes in the restaurant. They bought the bill over, and while we were trying to figure out how much each person owed, we asked the waitress to give us a minute. She replied in a very annoyed tone that she’d been told by management to push us out because they needed the table back. This shocked us at how rude of a sentiment it was, but nevertheless we wanted to try and help, so I offered to pay my share while my friends worked out theirs. I told her how much I wanted to pay, and she got so frustrated when I said this, she turned to a colleague, handed him the payment device and said “I don’t want to deal with this” and walked off.

The entire service was so bizarre and unwelcoming. The staff clearly need retraining and the prices need to...

I like this place. It’s cool, it’s relaxed, the service is fantastic.

Zuma and Roka’s cheaper and more casual sister restaurant is great for no fuss dining or as a last minute choice. I personally have never had an issue getting a table without a reservation, but I’m not convinced that’s always the case … I think I’ve just been lucky. The staff are friendly, relaxed and accommodating.

If you are alone (this is the kind of place you could comfortably have dinner alone) or just the two of you, try to get a seat at the bar. Much like it’s showier sister restaurants, the open robatayaki is a great source of entertainment … maybe even inspiration.

The music has got louder and better. The restaurant was almost full. Punters ranging from casual hungry drop-ins (my friend and I), to the more beautiful slinkier kind.

The service is uncompromising. Smiles from start to finish, even when we sent back our Sea bream, the waitress needed assurance that it was a personal choice, quickly followed by the manager asking if she could follow up with an alternative.

The food was mostly okay-ish. I loved the Panko Prawns. The Crab & Salmon tartare was refreshing but could have done with more seasoning. The Spicy tuna tempura, chilli mayo & chives lacked its main attraction … the spice and chilli. We sent back the Sea bream with salsa rosa, shiso cherry tomatoes. The aubergine was well cooked.

Despite the slight disappointment with the food (maybe they were having an off day), the service was great and I will be visiting...

This place has an amazing wibe. Modern take on Japanese cuisine. We had absolutely delicious selection of starters. Simple sounding kimchi rice, massive portion of sticky rice with a bit spicy pickled cabbage and egg yolk. Simple but very tasty. Then we had beef wrapped in some pastry and topped with black truffle. Very small dish, quite pricey but worth of every penny. And we tried steamed dumplings in yuzu sauce. This was so nice that usual using soy sauce was my unnecessary. For main I had ox cheek with spicy sauce and lettuce leaf wraps. Such a simple idea but it works so well. I only wish they gave us more leafs. But I am sure if I asked they would give me more. Beef was so soft it was falling apart. So yummy! Mistake was ordering lamb rump. It was very greasy. Not for everyone. But service had not a smallest problem to take the dish off our bill. As a pudding we had chocolate frozen bar. Oh my stars… that was so good. Massive portion, smooth, not too sweet with side sauce complementing chocolate soooo well. Yes, please! Service in general was very good. Polite all the way through. Swift, smiling, knowing the menu and very professional. Only thing I would say in bad, they are maybe too fast. I felt a little bit pushed. Plates were taken off my table before I managed to put my fork down. This was the only minus point of the whole experience. Finally I had a can of non alcoholic beer which was the best non alcoholic beer I have every tasted in my life! And I...

If you're looking for a unique Japanese dining experience in the heart of Soho, INKO NITO delivers with its unconventional approach to Japanese cuisine. Upon arrival, I was promptly seated at a single table by the window, perfect for people-watching on a sunny day. Speaking of which, the attentive team at INKO NITO offered me a refreshing ice-cold water to combat the heat, a small touch that went a long way in making me feel comfortable. Now onto the food - I ordered the Crispy Prawn Maki with Wasabi Mayo, the Steamed Prawn and Leek Dumplings with Ginger Ponzu, and the Aubergine with Garlic Lemon Miso and Spring Onions. The stand-out dish for me was definitely the prawn maki - perfectly crunchy on the outside with a satisfyingly juicy prawn filling, and a zingy punch from the wasabi mayo. The dumplings were also delicate and delicious, with a tangy kick from the ginger ponzu. However, the aubergine dish fell a bit short for me. While the idea of lemon miso and spring onions sounded promising, the execution was underwhelming and lacked the depth of flavour I was anticipating. Overall, the atmosphere at INKO NITO was buzzing and energetic, with a trendy industrial-chic aesthetic. The team were friendly and attentive, making for a seamless dining experience. While the aubergine dish wasn't quite up to scratch, the standout dishes more than made up for it. If you're in Soho and in the mood for some creative Japanese cuisine, INKO NITO definitely delivers the goods.
