AVOID The Wimbledon Branch.
If you donโt want your lunch break and Itsu experience to be ruined stay away from the Wimbledon branch.
I love Itsu, in fact it is my favourite lunch spot and honestly I have never had an issue whatsoever until my office moved and I started eating at there Wimbledon branch.
From the day one, unfortunately, the manager there seemed to behave in an obscenely rude and unprofessional way when serving customers and I had the unfortunate luck of having him take my order on multiple occasions, and the guy is just an utter illustration of aggression and rudeness for no good reason - A behaviour that I have overlooked on more than one occasion, particularly as my objective is to have a good meal and have a break from work.
Today however, this manager took his obnoxious usual behaviour to the next level, as after ordering with one of the employees and receiving my order, I realised that I was not given what I have requested and paid for, so I returned to the till to speak to the person who took the order but had this manager ignorantly jumping into the conversation (whilst he was serving other customers) to tell me that โIm wrong and my order is rightโ as he did it by himself, which does not make sense as I was standing by watching my order getting prepared in the open kitchen - Nonetheless, to avoid any further disruption to the lines of people queuing and those that were ordering, I replied saying that the order is not correct and that I will report this whilst he kept on arguing.
This is not the Itsu service level and ethos Iโm used to and I can honestly say that in my 3 years of eating there I have never encountered such an abnoxious and aggressive behaviour, which is really a shame and particularly when the subject at hand is โIt does not look like you have added two portions of chicken to my Potsu?โ.
I urge the regional management, particularly the directors Nicolas and Harry to take serious actions against such behaviour and really reinforce the Itsu values and ethos to avoid having employees like this ruin the beautiful image Itsu has built and established for itself over the years and which this manager is obviously not adhering to. Unfortunately, any reluctance in addressing this would mean loss of more loyal locals and regulars who are looking for a good vibes lunch spot and Iโm sure Iโm not the first one to start avoiding this place given the way this...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at your Wimbledon location and ordered the King Prawn Rice'box Salad. To say I was disappointed would be a massive understatement. The food was absolutely dreadful. The prawns were so tough and rubbery, I felt like I was chewing on a piece of old leather. Iโve had fresher and more palatable prawns from a discount bin in a convenience store.
The vegetables were inedible; they were so hard that trying to pierce a green pea with my fork was like attempting to break into Fort Knox. I honestly didn't think it was possible to mess up vegetables to this extent. They were more akin to rocks than anything remotely edible.
The only thing that made this sorry excuse for a meal even remotely consumable was the sauce. Without it, I doubt anyone could stomach this dish. Frankly, I wouldn't even offer this food to a homeless person; it was that bad.
Whatโs even more infuriating is that Iโve had the same dish at your Kingston location and it was a perfect 10/10. Sure, I had to wait a bit longer, but I'd rather wait for quality food than be served this monstrosity in three minutes.
I strongly urge you to address these issues immediately. No customer should have to endure such a terrible...
ย ย ย Read morePopped in for a light lunch on a chilly mid-Novemeber day in 2024. We've visited several times before, and as on this occasion, the service has always been very good.
The tables were clean and free from dead trays, cartons, and drink bottles. There were two front of house staff members who were busily going about serving customers, clearing & cleaning tables and stocking the chiller cabinets.
I had the chicken gyoza; a rather substantial carton and chicken with noodles. Not a bad dish and very filling. In our party of three we also had drinks plus a couple of other dishes.
Always convenient and fast-food.
The layout isn't great. Well, I should expand on that. The automatic tills just on the right of the entrance door are really close to the glass panels that form an entrance area and porch. When two people were using the first machine by the entrance door it was a real squeeze to get in and out; not great.
But generally not bad, though i would say that in my opinion it is a bit pricey for what is essentially fast-food.
