Very disappointing, premium prices for cheaply made food. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was horrible it had bones inside, it looked processed , the fish meat was mushy,,,, they definitely buy this fish from a very cheap place,,, definitely the worst place to eat this type of food,, the chips were skinny and crispy. Not close to traditional cooking. My colleague had a chicken breast burger he didnt even eat a quarter of that, the blue cheese was disgusting,, and smelt so bad,, i complained to the owner he was not willing to give any discount, refund or anything complimentary , the owner does not know anything about customer satisfaction... he did say, when i come back next time he will sort me out,, but im definitely not coming back here. Why would we return to a place that offers rubbish customer service. The owner is lucky my wife was not with me otherwise he would be in big trouble.

Great place serving full English Breakfast! The place run by friendly welcoming people, the decor and seatings are okey but the food and service are top! The menu is quite diverse offering flexibility as they have the option to make your own breakfast dish. I also liked the fact that they have pcitures on their website that are roughly real image of what you will get!! The food was fresh and tasty, the kitchen is open so you can observe the food being cooked. The portion is fulfilling and prices are quite affordable. Each meal comes with free hotdrink for breakfast as well. We had the Florentine and the Toff both yummy. We had breakfast tea which is served in big mugs and refillable! (And so is the American coffee) We finished with a flatwhite and latte which both had a rich taste of fresh coffee blend. Definitely recommend!

After being here maybe 10 times in 6 weeks that I’ve moved here, I thought it’s about time I tell the world I love this place! To manage expectations, it is a simple place with affordable comfort food. What I love best is the DIY breakfast I get to pick the parts of an English Breakfast that I like and add other stuff I like šŸ˜„ and theres a homecooked feel to the food. Jack and his team are also friendly and helpful and there’s something about them that gives the feeling they’re a family. It does get very busy after 11 though so if you need a lot of love and attention then it may be better to go before 10.

Just like all the other poor reviews - rude owner. Very impolite man

I asked if I could swap one ingredient for another, was told I could choose ā€˜anything’, so I did and was bluntly told no because that’s too much of an expensive swap in his own words ā€˜that’s Ā£25 per …’ then I was told if I want to swap the eggs it has to be both of them, not one. That’s fair enough, but he made a point to say ā€˜we’re lenient but can’t do that much’ then I asked multiple times what I could swap it for and I’ll select from the options, rather than choosing and being told that’s not an option. He kept responding with so much attitude I couldn’t believe how he was talking, it’s as if I was asking for free food. Eventually he gave me a list of items and I picked one and said I found his mannerisms rude and there was no need. To which he came back and asked me what I found rude, I started to talk and yet again he started interrupting me. I ended up saying you don’t ask someone a question to interrupt them and we left after that. Shocking dialogue to be honest, don’t think I’ve ever come across someone so argumentative.

All he needed to say was, you can swap for x y and z, what would you like? Rather than make such a big deal out of it, repeatedly say choose anything then keep declining.

Won’t be suggesting this place to any of my friends/family and we frequently come out to the area.

Cafe ole down the road has much more decent staff who don’t...

Not impressed at all I have been on here a couple of times the first time there was a bit of a discrepancy over some bacon so I was charged more than 4 pounds for two very thin slices of bacon between two pieces of white bread with margarine not butter and loads of ketchup which was not very nice I did complain about it the following week and order the same thing again asked for three bits of bacon as I felt that two small bits really didn’t amount to a bacon sandwich to be charged 1 pound for a further slice of bacon so I did say something also there was an issue about touching money and then touching food namely buttering bread with the same hand that you have passed back coins to somebody the guy and they was extremely rude to me in fact even complained about the first time I asked him why there were only two little slices of Bacon in my sandwich he tell me to come out of his shop and don’t bleep bleep Come back to his shop Extremely unprofessional the girls in the hairdressers at Hedmasters also said the same thing in fact they all used to eat there but now eat round the corner at the cafe Ole which is a much better cafe the prices are more reasonable and the food I feel as much of a...

If you are going here for breakfast or brunch you will likely be satisfied considering the good reviews.

However, some of the points I'm addressing now might be worth noting for your next visit.

Reasons why I'm not coming back.

First reason, the price for anything other than breakfast/brunch. I ended up paying £10 with a drink for Fish and chips. I totally disliked it as it was hard, tasteless and you could tell it was cooked from frozen.

If I have to say something good about the fish, that would be no grease or fat visible.

Second, the place was really noisy and you could hear what the person sitting in the other corner was saying.

Third, there were small flies flying around trying to get a bite of my meal. I felt ashamed when I tried to move them away as I had done it several times. I lost my appetite when one of them got a bite of my salad, which was poor.

Fourth, chips were bad. Even using some ketchup didn't change my opinion.

Fifth, upon paying, the person was talking in another language to his colleague and didn't look at me once.

Considering all the above, I'd like to think I had a bad day ordering fish and chips from a place well known for...
