Jamaica Blue in Ilford is truly a hidden gem that sets the bar for exceptional coffee shops! From the moment you walk in, youāre greeted by a warm and vibrant atmosphere that feels almost ethereal. The dĆ©cor is stunning stylish yet cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even enjoy a quiet moment with a divine cup of coffee.
Now, let me talk about the real star of the show: Jonella. Her customer service is, quite frankly, second to none! š She goes above and beyond to ensure every single customer feels valued and cared for. Jonellaās infectious positivity and professionalism are unparalleled, and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. She truly deserves to be rewarded for her superior service. The other girls on the team are equally amazing welcoming, cheerful, and always ready to help with a smile. š
As for the food and drinks, they are first class. Iāve been to many Jamaica Blue branches, including Richmond, and I can confidently say the Ilford location stands out by a mile. Their halal sausage bap is my go-to breakfast itās always perfectly cooked, fresh, and delicious. Pair it with their white hot chocolate, and youāre in for a treat that feels almost heavenly. āš«
Itās clear to me that some of the negative reviews about this place are from competitors trying to bring down an incredible establishment for their own gain. Jamaica Blue in Ilford uplifts the area and adds a touch of prestige itās a place the community can genuinely be proud of.
Every visit is something I look forward to, and I canāt recommend this place enough. If you havenāt been here yet, what are you waiting for? Come for the coffee, stay for the incredible experience, and donāt forget to say hello to Jonella and the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really excited by the prospect of having Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee, so when I noticed this in Exchange I was eager to try it out. The cafe is part of an international franchise located in a prime location on the first floor, it does have a lot of passing traffic as it's quite open but I liked that. The decor is clean and modern and feels pretty classy.
Now the food - they have brunch type menu items, a lot of items with sourdough bread fairly hipster-ish, I tried to order the salmon teryaki and Oriental noodle bowl which they didn't have instock. It is pretty pricey for a cafe - but from what I saw of other dishes the presentation is good. I had to resort to ordering ready made wraps and sandwiches from the counter. These weren't priced up and turned out to be pretty expensive for what they were.. for example 6.90 for a Tuna wrap. When this was served it was just placed on a plate with no salad or anything else. I had a mozeralla spinata which tasted good but again was pricey for what it was. I could have paid a bit extra and for freshly cooked item from the main menu.
Coffee - went for the Blue Mountain coffee which is a premium bean. I went for the flat white which I found a bit too milky. Not sure if it was the bean or the barista but I was a bit underwhelmed by the flavour. It cost £4.20 as well but that's was ok.
In response to another review, this isn't Jamaican cuisine, it's theme is based on the Blue Mountain coffee. This cafe is pretty classy but suited to central London rather than Ilford. It's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely appalled at the service I received today at Jamaica blue. Iām not one to ever leave a review but I was so disgusted and even more so because I work in the hospitality industry myself. I would leave no stars if possible. First of all the table was filthy which the manager put down to it being busy when there was only 6 other tables in there at the time. I ordered a brownie which tasted awful so after my son took one bite I asked if it was ok if we could exchange it for something else, I wasnāt really given an answer the young girl at the till just shrugged it off and said I donāt know. So I asked another server if I could speak to the manager and she responded that the manager was going for a cigarette first and then she will come and speak to me, how unprofessional. When I eventually spoke to the manager she was so rude and when I asked another server for the managers name she told me she was scared to give me her name. It was highly unprofessional, Iām not sure how this woman even got the role of manager and itās no surprise the rest of the staff are unprofessional if you have someone so incompetent managing the place. Steer clear, horrible staff and the food was...
