I did find the menu limited in terms of changing breakfast items. I did ask to change two meat items for smoked salmon but was first told no as smoked salmon is expensive (but this was untrue as actually cheaper than the two items together) and then got told they don't have much salmon so I couldn't have that as an option. I then decided to order eggs with toast with salmon at extra cost and received a huge amount of salmon. Absolutely flabbergasted at this! Anyway food was ok but I when I'm eating out, it's all about the service for me too. My friend asked for water after we received our food and was told where she could get it. Anyway I've tried it and thought price was bit high. The actual cafe is pretty but that's about it. An annoying fly did keep disturbing me and was surprised being indoors on a 2nd floor mall! It's good to try places out and would rate it 5/10. Staff could do with customer service training, after all it is part of the hospitality industry.. My meal was £10.20. This did not include any drinks and my tea was £2.90. Quite pricey for Ilford in my opinion.

This was my third visit to this place, as I enjoy coffee and think it's only fair to check a place for consistency before stating my opinion. I've ordered a Cortado, unfortunately it was very poor and very milky. Today tried a macchiato, as often poorly trained Baristas don't understand the difference, between simply staining the coffee with milk foam or turning into into a small latte! The macchiato was better, but the Barista, didn't understand how to make the drink and poured in lots of foamy milk. She then tried to put a lid on and made a mess of the cup. Instead of offering to make me a new drink simply gave me the messy cup and I had to request a tissue. I've now tried my third drink, this time an espresso to judge the blend. I must honestly say the beans are nice. Slightly bitter, but enough woody notes to create a balance of flavour that is pleasant on the tongue. To conclude, the Baristas need better training on how to pour coffee shots, and make various drinks. This would greatly improve this store as the coffee beans are very nice.

I choose this place to dine in and catch up with a friend and I got so relaxed I forgot to snap the photos of our meal. *The only snap I got is of the lovely looking carrot cake I brought home for my husband. Sorry, missed to take the photo of the Turkish Eggs with flatbread, yogurt and hummus that I had, really nice. My friend had the Jerk Burger. I gathered she liked it as I remember her plate being completely cleaned. This combination of carribean and Turkish cooking is a really good mix and therefore we'll recommended. We met there at about 1 o clock lunch time and it wasn't overly crowded, which is also good and the seating areas were comfy and clean. Also liked the decor. The Mall parking price for the time I spent there wasn't bad either. I'd go back. They should actually have more franchises of this restaurant dotted around.

Jamaica Blue in Ilford is truly a hidden gem that sets the bar for exceptional coffee shops! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and vibrant atmosphere that feels almost ethereal. The dĆ©cor is stunning stylish yet cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even enjoy a quiet moment with a divine cup of coffee.

Now, let me talk about the real star of the show: Jonella. Her customer service is, quite frankly, second to none! 🌟 She goes above and beyond to ensure every single customer feels valued and cared for. Jonella’s infectious positivity and professionalism are unparalleled, and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. She truly deserves to be rewarded for her superior service. The other girls on the team are equally amazing welcoming, cheerful, and always ready to help with a smile. 😊

As for the food and drinks, they are first class. I’ve been to many Jamaica Blue branches, including Richmond, and I can confidently say the Ilford location stands out by a mile. Their halal sausage bap is my go-to breakfast it’s always perfectly cooked, fresh, and delicious. Pair it with their white hot chocolate, and you’re in for a treat that feels almost heavenly. ā˜•šŸ«

It’s clear to me that some of the negative reviews about this place are from competitors trying to bring down an incredible establishment for their own gain. Jamaica Blue in Ilford uplifts the area and adds a touch of prestige it’s a place the community can genuinely be proud of.

Every visit is something I look forward to, and I can’t recommend this place enough. If you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for? Come for the coffee, stay for the incredible experience, and don’t forget to say hello to Jonella and the...

I was really excited by the prospect of having Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee, so when I noticed this in Exchange I was eager to try it out. The cafe is part of an international franchise located in a prime location on the first floor, it does have a lot of passing traffic as it's quite open but I liked that. The decor is clean and modern and feels pretty classy.

Now the food - they have brunch type menu items, a lot of items with sourdough bread fairly hipster-ish, I tried to order the salmon teryaki and Oriental noodle bowl which they didn't have instock. It is pretty pricey for a cafe - but from what I saw of other dishes the presentation is good. I had to resort to ordering ready made wraps and sandwiches from the counter. These weren't priced up and turned out to be pretty expensive for what they were.. for example 6.90 for a Tuna wrap. When this was served it was just placed on a plate with no salad or anything else. I had a mozeralla spinata which tasted good but again was pricey for what it was. I could have paid a bit extra and for freshly cooked item from the main menu.

Coffee - went for the Blue Mountain coffee which is a premium bean. I went for the flat white which I found a bit too milky. Not sure if it was the bean or the barista but I was a bit underwhelmed by the flavour. It cost £4.20 as well but that's was ok.

In response to another review, this isn't Jamaican cuisine, it's theme is based on the Blue Mountain coffee. This cafe is pretty classy but suited to central London rather than Ilford. It's...

Absolutely appalled at the service I received today at Jamaica blue. I’m not one to ever leave a review but I was so disgusted and even more so because I work in the hospitality industry myself. I would leave no stars if possible. First of all the table was filthy which the manager put down to it being busy when there was only 6 other tables in there at the time. I ordered a brownie which tasted awful so after my son took one bite I asked if it was ok if we could exchange it for something else, I wasn’t really given an answer the young girl at the till just shrugged it off and said I don’t know. So I asked another server if I could speak to the manager and she responded that the manager was going for a cigarette first and then she will come and speak to me, how unprofessional. When I eventually spoke to the manager she was so rude and when I asked another server for the managers name she told me she was scared to give me her name. It was highly unprofessional, I’m not sure how this woman even got the role of manager and it’s no surprise the rest of the staff are unprofessional if you have someone so incompetent managing the place. Steer clear, horrible staff and the food was...
