This is the best authentic Jamaican food in LONDON I have ever tried!! I love the chicken patties and the homemade macaroni and cheese. If you are a vegetarian they have options too, it is called 'rastaman combo' and it is full of vegetables and protein to get you fit and strong. They also do deliveries which is through deliveroo, which is a BONUS! In the summer they have the jerk pan which the grill jerk chicken on. Once you walk in your mouth will start watering once you've ordered. If you are walking up towards Jay Dee's Catering, you will smell it down the road. They make their own homemade drinks too. My personal favourite is the 'mango and lemon'. It is really smooth and has a nice flavour. Also ALL their meat is halal. In Christmas time they make homemade fruit cake, which is delicious. Make sure you order it at least a week before. They cater for all accaisons and provide the serving trays!
The staff are really nice and kind. There is this one woman who is really funny and will make you laugh. All the staff are from Jamiaca, which is AMAIZING!! They play authentic Jamican music which is really cool and puts you in the mood for Jamican food!!!
When you buy food you get the money's worth!! For example: if you buy a large meal they will not fill the container half way, they do it to the brim!! Which is amazing value.
Jay Dee's Catering is a family business and has lots of love for everybody no matter who you are. Even on the saddest day, once you walk in, you will forget everything that has happened and think about food. I have to come there at least once a week otherwise I feel like I have been missing out on...

I've been to some great Caribbean places in London and had some amazing jerk. The jerk here is good. But its not wow. The issue I have is with the attitude of the staff.... I'm not sure if it's because I don't fit the typical demographic or if it's just what's to be expected but it felt like I was causing more of a problem by being there. The person serving me just looked at me as though to say "what do you want". There was no "how are you" or "what would you like today" it was just a stare until I finally broke the silence. It also ended with me leaving saying "thankyou and have a nice day" to which the lady nodded.
There are better jerk places in London that make much better jerk (Joyce's Jerk in Central specifically) but for the attitude alone I can't bring myself to recommend it. The jerk was...
Read moreHere's a funny one. Lived in the area my whole life. Getting food from jaydees over the years. Popped in, asked if something was available - they said it wasn't. Fair enough - happens right? Went for something else. Group of three guys come in after, order what I asked for (which wasn't available mind you) -they all got it and we're on their way. I asked the staff what happened there, some nonsensical excuse came out. Fine. As I'm leaving I hear laughter.........yeah. Keep your money and go elsewhere unless you like to get taken for a fool. It's a shame because the food is good, but the horrendous attitude is what lets...
