Jerome's Wine Bar & Shop — Restaurant in London

First visit, and it seems like a really nice place. Firstly, staff were great, very friendly and attentive. Loved the staff. Wine by the glass was really nice, we had the Bulgarian red, and a really good Italian Orange. We had the combined cheese and meat platter which was nice, probably not as good value as the wine. Also a shame that three of the bits of cheese had meat draped over them, but I guess we could have asked for that not to have happened in advance. Maybe not a unique situation for a meat eater and vegetarian ordering one of these platters though? The problem with this evening though, and it was a big issue, was the table we were put at. It was at the back of the bar, completely separate from the main part of the bar, and directly in front of the kitchen. That area, with just two tables, had a completely different, and reduced, atmosphere to the main part of the bar. The door of the kitchen, which our table was about four feet from, and which for some reason couldn't be closed, had to be propped open with a gallon bottle of olive oil, which meant the blazing lights from the kitchen were in our eyes for pretty much the entire evening. Unless we'd decided to sit side by side at the round table, facing the other way, there was no option to negate this. That kind of detracted from the otherwise low level 'wine bar' type lighting of the rest of the space. The staff really were very lovely, but I don't think we'll take the chance of going back and being put in the outback again....

This was my first time at Jerome's and the whole experience was perfect. I came with a large booking and Jerome kindly sat us in our own area towards the back of the room where we felt cosy but still part of the atmosphere. The decor is stylish, elegant whilst being warm, authentic and inviting. The wine was delicious and the food perfect for a light dinner if you wanted or equally easy to order a whole pizza for yourself :) Thank you Jerome and the team. Excited...

Yet another birthday celebration at Jerome’s ! Where else would we go!!!!!! Guaranteed fabulous atmosphere. Received excellent service and great pinzas to keep us sober ish on a school night!!
