Karosarn Tooting is the best Thai restaurant in London, and it’s a must visit for food lovers. Their dishes are bursting with flavour, crafted with authentic recipes that transport your taste buds straight to Thailand. They are open to personal requests, within reason. They even embraced hubby and my dish creation. Ask for the fish and special sauce. From the rich curries to the aromatic stir fries, every bite is a masterpiece of taste and freshness. What truly sets Karosarn apart is the outstanding staff and management. They ensure every guest feels welcome, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that’s as memorable as the food. The hand crafted decor adds an extra touch of charm, making the dining experience even more special. Their genuine hospitality makes you feel like a valued part of their family every time you visit. Hubby and I absolutely love it here, it’s our go to spot whenever we crave exceptional food and an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a cozy place to indulge in top class cuisine, Karosarn Tooting is a perfect choice. Don’t just take my word for it, go visit and experience the magic for yourself. Once you try it, you’ll understand why we keep coming back!

5 of us shared starters and ordered a main each. Starters tasted very basic, I would not order those again especially given the price. Portions for the mixed starter was appalling. Our server was also in a hurry and took our menus away without asking. I ordered a duck drunken noodle for my main and it was fine, felt like the fat on the duck could have been rendered before adding it to the mix. Definitely was expecting more spices and strong flavours. The best thing was the portion size and there was a decent amount of meat in the meal. Others on my table found their meals average. Aise from the food, the table was “rustic” but really just scratched and damaged and the chairs were broken in places. It was a very cold and uncomfortable environment. Due to concrete walls, their was no sound absorption and the party next to us caused a lot of sound which just echoed throughout. Too loud to talk or eat in peace. Decorations are also minimal so we were staring at a boring painted wall. All in all, some work could be done to make it feel homelier and comfy, they could definitely benefit from adding more elements of thai culture so we can really get an experience. And an option for more spicy food on the menu would be nice too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *Update to my original review* I recently returned to Kaosarn in Tooting for another fantastic lunch with my son and daughter, and I’m thrilled to update my review with fresh photos! As before, I savoured the vegetarian Panang curry with spring rolls, my son devoured the minced chicken krapao, and my daughter loved her pad Thai noodles. Kaosarn continues to shine among Tooting’s many great restaurants with its homemade, authentic Thai food and warm, family-run vibe. My son remains obsessed with their chilli oil! The relaxing ambience with traditional Thai decor and the spotlessly clean, well-run setup make every visit special. Noi’s customer service is outstanding and never leaves us disappointed. I’ve added new photos to show the delicious dishes and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend Kaosarn for lunch or dinner!

Would not recommend this restaurant. We have eaten at several London based Thai restaurants and have a good baseline to compare this food to. More detail below.

Some of the positives: It’s a BYOB restaurant which is great! They’ve recently received license to sell, and looks like they have a few Thai wine options which looked interesting! 👍

The massaman curry was good - mild, good flavours. Rice was good also.

Some things that let them down: The Calamari and Spare Ribs were very chewy and dry, and the batter was thick and on the verge of being burnt. If I were to guess, they appeared reheated or frozen ingredients. The ingredients didn’t have much flavour as a result. As a small note, the accompanying sweet chilli sauce was quite runny/watered down

The duck flat noodle dish - which was recommended - was too spicy, masking any delicate flavours you’d expect. The duck meat was largely fat and skin and also quite chewy.

Overall, we found that the menu was not good value for money compared to its competitors, and the food lacked the freshness, flavours and consistency you’d expect from an authentic Thai restaurant.

The service was acceptable and fast response on pre-reservation queries. Note they only accept cash. Would not return or recommend unfortunately. Older reviews suggest they aren’t receptive to criticisms which may be part...
