My partner and I traveled for an hour to visit Kervan, hoping to enjoy a traditional Turkish breakfast. However, upon arrival, we were informed that they were not serving breakfast that day, which was disappointing. What made matters worse was the fact that we witnessed other customers who arrived after us being allowed to order the breakfast, as long as they were Turkish. This discriminatory practice left a sour taste in our mouths right from the start.

To make the best of the situation, we decided to order something else from the menu. Unfortunately halfway through eating, my partner bit into a piece of what turned out to be ceramic that had chipped off into the food. This was not only a shocking discovery, but also a serious safety hazard, especially considering we were also feeding our 9-month-old baby at the table. We immediately brought this to the attention of the staff, to which the supervisor asked to see the ceramic and confirmed it was from their rice pots To our dismay, the staff showed little concern and merely asked if we wanted more food.

Feeling uncomfortable and concerned for our child's safety, we declined any further offerings and requested some form of action to be taken regarding the foreign object in our food. However, the staff did nothing to address the issue apart from bicker with each other, roll their eyes and instead took the food away, leaving us with the bill as if nothing had happened. This lack of accountability and disregard for customer safety is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the restaurant's management and standards of service.

Overall, our experience at Kervan was marred by the lack of transparency, discriminatory practices, and negligence towards customer well-being. We left feeling disappointed, dissatisfied, and with a sense of regret for having chosen to dine at this...

I went to Kervan Sofrasi with a small group to celebrate a friend's birthday. My friends all said that they had been there many times before and thought that the food was good and that it was reasonably priced. I have never been impressed by the look of this ramshackle place. It wouldn't be my first choice as a place to eat and I know that because of the terrible smell of burning fat and meat that pours out of the place, local people call it "the crematorium". We were seated in the big extension at the side of the building. This is all hard surfaces and the noise in there was indescribable, we had to shout at each other in order to be heard. We ordered as a group and were quite quickly presented with two enormous platters of food to share between us. When I go to a restaurant I usually expect that the food will be at least as good or better than anything that I can cook at home. This stuff looked like the sort of thing that you might forage if you found yourself washed up on a desert island with only a penknife and a sharp stick. The kindest thing I can say about it was that it was unsophisticated and unappetising. I know that people love this place but I thought it was embarrassingly bad. There is a video on Youtube of rats in the Wood Green branch of Kervan Sofrasi and although we didn't see any rats in the Southgate branch whilst we waited at the nearby bus stop we could clearly see Rentokil rat bait boxes around the back entrance of...

Kervan Southgate is usually our family's go to restaurant for a dinner off occasion. Unfortunately last Saturday I had booked a table in advance and still had to wait an extra half an hour to be seated, not ideal when you are with 2 elderly people and a family of 5. I understand this place is probably at its busiest on the weekend hence the booking. When we were finally seated everything went quite swiftly apart from 3 waiters trying to get us a bottle of sparkling water which we finally got 10 mins after the dinner arrived. When we did get our food (which is normally delicious and well cooked) the lamb shish was very undercooked and chewy, the lamb chops also very undercooked. Chips were very oven chip like and cold. 15 or 20 minutes or so into our dinner whilst eating, all the lights were turned off in our seating area for someone's birthday celebration cake. I'm not a killjoy and I don't begrudge a birthday celebration in a restaurant if that's what you want but the least staff could have done was warn us we would have to eat in the dark for a few minutes. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional. Service was ok from waiters but all seemed a bit stressed with how busy it was. Overall very disappointed as the standards are dropping which...

Went here for Fathers Day! Seems to be very popular, it was very busy. The restaurant is nicely done with good decor. The food was delicious. We ordered the meat and Meze Platter, Prawns and Feta Salad. We were however very disappointed with the service. We ordered the children food first, and it was the last thing to arrive - it took more than 1 hour just for a chicken sheesh and chips to be served, meanwhile our food has already been served to us. Our drinks came halfway through our meal, which again was annoying. No ice in the drinks, we had to ask for it. We also had to ask for our sauces. We then ordered Tea & dessert. 20 mins later I asked our waiter how long it will be and he then told us that they didn’t have the tea we wanted. They gave us an alternative, and because I then complained about the service we had received he didn’t charge us for the tea. I would have given this place 5 Star rating, but the service was probably the worst I’ve seen in a long time and honestly it was off putting as it did ruin our family meal out. My children were starving and we couldn’t exactly enjoy our food whilst they waiting for theirs. Still giving a 2 star just for food, otherwise it would’ve been a 1. We had Baklava and Kunefe for dessert.

Had an absolutely delightful experience at Kervan in Southgate. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch – friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. There were plenty of staff constantly checking in to see if we needed anything, which made the evening all the more enjoyable. The food was superb – every dish was full of flavour. The starters were excellent, and the meat and vegetables were incredibly fresh and well-prepared. You could really taste the quality in every bite. We also tried the Sex on the Beach cocktail, which was nice, though it could do with a slightly stronger orange flavour – but that’s just a personal preference. The garden area is a real gem, perfect for a relaxed evening. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, especially during warmer weather. Parking isn’t a big issue – there’s space for two cars directly outside the restaurant, and Asda next door offers three hours of free parking, so it’s very convenient. All in all, Kervan is a fantastic spot with brilliant food, warm hospitality, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended – a true pleasure to dine here.
