It was a cold, wet and balmy evening. But it wasnāt just the weather that gave me the chills that night, the customer service was enough to dampen the soul and make you shudder in disgust.
As a Kentucky Fried Chicken⢠enthusiast, I was eagerly anticipating my evening zinger box meal complete with gravy, wings, chips and orange Tango all for a tasty and modest £6.49. Unfortunately, other than my hard earned GDP it would appear that there was a hefty price to pay. The price came to an extortionate half an hour of my invaluable and precious time.
10 minutes preceded to pass since Iād ordered on the innovative self service machine and it swiftly became evident to myself and the other hungry customers that fast food was not on the Colonelās agenda today. The lingering smell of fried chicken swept through the restaurant floor relentlessly like a greasy hurricane. Tingling, tickling and teasing the nostrils like a cruel meaty mistress leaving us clucking for that finger lickinā ⢠goodness.
Eventually, after thirty gruelling minutes of waiting our banquet awaited us. Blanketed in a brown paper bag complete with product logo we glared at each other, our eyes widened and lit up. Our tummies growled one last time. The dawn was rising. Our time had come.
As a precaution, it was unanimously voted for that we would eat it at the restaurant instead of at home to ensure our food would remain hot and prevent any excess heat from escaping. Agonisingly, the food we received was medium warm to cold. I was left saddened, disappointed and disheartened that a renowned powerhouse such as KFC, with an exemplary reputation behind them and a diehard following could let this happen, and that was the hardest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited East Ham KFC yesterday evening at 21:30
I was served by Chaitanya, the team leader, who I found to be very helpful, courteous, and professional, just what you would expect from a member of customer facing team.
I had a less enjoyable experience with Alexandria. I approached the counter to place my order as I am a veteran and have dietary requirements, so I did not use the kiosks.
I stood waiting for around 5-6 minutes while being ignored completely. I decided to get her attention when the delivery drivers had picked up their orders. From the onset, the tone and interaction was very disrespectful. When I mentioned this to Alexandria, I was met with more disrespect, and Chaitanya stepped in to serve.
While Chaitanya was helping me with my dietary requirements, he was being very patient, and Alexandria rudely interrupts the conversation to ask him to come to the back. I found this to be shocking, particularly as dietary requirements can lead to severe health issues and can well land the chain into legal disputes if a customer falls ill after consuming wrongly provided orders.
Long story short, I asked Alexandria for her name, which she provided quite confidently, indicating to me that her behaviour is accepted by the management and is the norm. While I have no confidence that her customer service skills will improve, I am leaving this review so that other East Ham community folks will know to avoid this individual when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey messed up all the orders. Made about 9 orders available my mistake then deleted all of them. Everyone rushed to the collection point but nothing was ready. 2 stars is only because they rushed to get everything ready after. Was not a smooth process. Update. 26/06/2022 I had an offer on my app and the person who served me tried to charge me the full price after scanning the QR code from my KFC app. I had to then tell her the correct discounted price. When I went to the self service machine it gave me the option to dine in or take away. But the person who served me told me it was to take away only as they will be closing soon. When I finally got my order it was a rubbish experience. I honestly will not be going back there again. The whole experience was really bad. On the plus side the food was hot. No sauces were offered so I ate the chips dry. The order appeared on the screen for about 20 seconds then disappeared as if I had collected it. I waited in line for about 4 mins before the guy asked me for my receipt then took a further 6 mins or so before I got my order. The whole experience was horrible. I could see they were more focused on completing collection orders rather than forfilling customer orders who were there Infront of them. Sort it out KFC. you're not the only chicken place on the high street. You will start to lose customers this way. Anyway, I'm done. I won't be...
