King Neptune Fish & Chips — Restaurant in London

There was a glitch on the Just Eat website, and for some reason, I was mistakenly directed to this restaurant instead of the one I usually order from. As soon as I realised the error, I immediately called the restaurant to explain the situation and asked them to cancel the order.

I told the person on the phone that this wasn’t the restaurant I intended to order from, and that the food hadn’t been prepared yet, so could they please cancel the order and I would arrange a refund through Just Eat. Instead of being helpful, the person insisted that if I cancelled, I would still be charged — whether or not I received the food. He even tried to persuade me to give them a chance and not “lose my money,” saying they would do their best to cook the food properly. I had already seen the negative reviews about this place, so I wasn’t hopeful — and unfortunately, those reviews turned out to be very accurate.

When the fish and chips arrived, it was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had. The fish was dry, the batter was tough, and I seriously doubt it was fresh — it seemed like frozen, ready-made fish. The chips were burnt, dry, cold, and completely inedible. We ended up throwing the whole lot away and feeding it to the foxes. It was that bad.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Awful food, poor service, and no effort to help fix a simple issue. Avoid...

I absolutely hate the way food arrives at my doorstep, no nothing to do drivers. It's the way the food is presented. I go to the shops they prepare the Meat 🍖 Donner in front of you and the next question is what would you like on it. How do you expect to eat with no sauce I even order extra sauce that always fails to arrive. You always get one source free of charge but never arrives. I like my meat 🍖 drenched in Garlic sauce and Chill but can't choose 2 at one time. Always had problems with my order, hence why I've stopped ordering from them, they always make mistakes specifically ask for no ketchup and and no tomatoes unfortunately go to deaf ears I'm allergic to ketchup and tomato all I get isa simple throw the 🍅 and eat the rest that doesn't work as 🍅 have those wet seeds all over my salad Complained about it so many times but I guess management don't read the feedbacks otherwise there would have been a improvement in services Always reluctant to order from them as overall the food...

I ordered from Justeat and naturally after ordering I came onto google maps to see the distance and saw the current reviews on here

I can genuinely say the star rating on here does not reflect the food you’re getting (their score on Justeat is very good btw)

The food arrived promptly on time, well packaged and their delivery driver was nice and polite

The food was piping hot, I also got some free hot wings which were lovely. My order was the mixed chicken and lamb donner kebab with chips. Chips steaming hot, plump, lovely chips. The kebab meat… the chicken donner is probably the best I’ve tasted and I’m not normally a huge chicken donner fan. Awesome food

Currently working down in London staying at the premier inn and I’m glad I’ve found somewhere nice to order from because when I’m here next, I’ll be ordering from King Neptune. 10/10...
