As someone who has tried nearly every coffee chain in London—from the ever-present Costa Coffee to the global giant Starbucks—I can confidently say that Kiss the Hippo Coffee is in a league of its own. From the moment you step inside, you immediately sense that this place is driven by passion, precision, and a deep love for great coffee. Ambience & Vibe: Kiss the Hippo offers a minimalist yet cozy atmosphere that’s both modern and inviting. The clean interior design, soft lighting, and subtle music create the perfect environment for a relaxed coffee break or a quiet place to work or read. It’s refreshing to be in a coffee shop that isn’t overcrowded or overly commercial—it genuinely feels like a place made for coffee lovers. The Coffee – Especially the Latte: Let’s get to the heart of it: the coffee. I’ve had my fair share of lattes from Starbucks and Costa, but nothing compares to the latte at Kiss the Hippo. The quality of the beans, the smoothness of the milk, the balance of flavor—everything is simply superior. It’s creamy without being heavy, strong but never bitter, and the latte art is always beautiful. You can tell that every cup is crafted with intention and skill. Their baristas aren’t just pushing buttons—they’re true artists. Sustainability & Ethics: Another reason I prefer Kiss the Hippo over big chains is their commitment to sustainability. Their coffee is ethically sourced, and they actively support environmentally friendly practices, from compostable cups to carbon-neutral roasting. As a conscious consumer, that matters to me more than ever. Service: The staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they serve. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just someone who needs a caffeine fix, they’re always happy to recommend something or explain what makes each roast unique. Final Verdict: Kiss the Hippo isn’t just better than Costa and Starbucks—it redefines what a great coffee experience should be. If you truly love coffee, especially a top-tier latte, this place is an absolute must. It’s not just about the drink—it’s about the care, the craft, and the atmosphere. And once you try it, it’s hard to go back to the big chains. Rating: 5/5 – A perfect blend of quality, ethics, and style.

Really delicious cortado. Great to find a coffee spot which actually had good coffee (weirdly hard to find).

Love this place! A wonderful place to go for a nice coffee and a chill atmosphere. You can tell they care for the sourcing and the roasting. I had a latte with a choice of mixed beans, it was smooth, rich and perfectly balanced. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, one of the staff - Bin, she greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel right at home. She explained to me the difference between the beans and helped me to make a better choice on my latte. She made a gorgeous latte art of a goose pattern, that was so adorable!!! For the desert I went for a chocolate tart and was very nice. Overall it’s a really enjoyable experience to spend my afternoon here.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kiss the Hippo in Chelsea, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The quality of their coffee is exceptional, with the espresso extraction being absolutely perfect—rich and full of flavor.

The atmosphere of the cafĂ© is inviting and well-designed, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a cup of coffee. What truly stood out to me was the friendly and diverse staff. Even during busy times, they always greeted customers with genuine smiles and made the experience feel personalized. It’s clear that they care about their customers and take pride in what they do.
