This place is an absolute shambles, my god. Was invited via Instagram to try one of their pizzas. Upon arrival at the restaurant, the signs were not good (quite literally, the ‘G’ from their sign has fallen off; they are now the ‘OAT’ restaurant). The restaurant was completely empty. The guy who came to the door looked extremely confused at the existence of another human being. He then informed me THERE WAS NO PIZZA. They didn’t have a pizza chef in, and apparently none of the other chefs knew how to chuck some tomato sauce + cheese on a piece of dough. What’s even worse is that there was apparently no squid, no fish, no scallops, etc. The menus themselves are crumbled pieces of paper. Why is this place even open? They’re wasting electricity in a world that’s short of it. Anyway, this place is a scam, and I was told the best I could get out of my PR invite was “maybe 10%-20% off”. Their desperation for business really shows. Foodies, BEWARE. This place is an utter waste of time, and a pathetic excuse of a “restaurant” / “gastropub”. Some great service, from the American chap and the young man but I can't recommend this place for Sunday lunch. Food delivery was slow, I received my food at the same time as another table although I had ordered 15 minutes before them. I had the roast pork and the meat was wonderful. The pork js rolled and served like porchetta, Italian style. Fantastic but I dont know why they serve frozen pre bought Yorkshire puddings. Do not abuse the pud! It should be the crowning glory not a small puck plus the veg looked and tasted like the vaccum packed, pre prepared catering stuff, plus liquid cauliflower isn't great. Sunday lunch is a symphony and there are just too many bum notes here. Plus, please don't use coloured plates. They are for vegan cafes. PS unlimited gravy doesn't mean anything. If I ask for more gravy, I don't expect to be charged and no one wants these yorkshires.

I went here for a last table sitting on a Tuesday and we had the pleasure of being served by Jade. Ordering 6 small plates with some advice from Jade our hostess, we were impressed. She helped to guide us through the small plates, and each held its own and a great ecample of how comfort food shiuld be: 1. Croquettes - very tasty, lots of flavour, butter, and cheese. 2. Nduja, honey, and burrata flatbreads 3. Burnt veg, very tasty getting the smoke and the sweet from the Char 4. Smashed patty, lots of cheese, pickles, and tasty beef 5. Fried Chicken - great light batter and sauce, was not too heavy and a little spicy kick. 6. Thai Chicken Satay- easy to eat and very tasty. We are coming back again.

To be quite honest, if I could have given zero stars I would have. I came here with my friends and the venue was largely empty bar a few tables. We sat outside and waited for 15 minutes for someone to come and welcome us, I then went inside to see if the venue was still open and accepting new customers to which I received a lecture from a disgruntled waitress on the etiquette of asking permission to be seated and if tables are available before taking a seat, if the restaurant had of been full I would understand but the fact that the venue clearly wasn’t just made this notion bizarre. The waitress admitted that she saw us waiting however opted to wait for us to come in and follow protocol, upon establishing that we would like to be seated (I even apologised, bizarre!), she proceeded to tell me that she needed to check the system for availability. From this moment on, the service we received was abhorrent, the waitress blatantly ignored me to my face on multiple occasions, we received our food with no cutlery and after asking for cutlery she only brought a set for my friend and left me out. Continuous service checks on all tables around us took place as we sat there, not being approached. I’m not just shocked at this, I’m really saddened by such a rude and uncomfortable situation. We told another waiter about this and he told the manager, the manager didn’t come to see what the issue was so I went in to request a chat. Upon telling him of our experience, he brought us free shots and assured us he would speak to the waitress. We saw him speak to the waitress who uncontrollably laughed in full view of us, he says this was unrelated and had to deal with another complaint from another table. The food was very good, which I guess is excuse enough for the allowance of one star but needless to say we will be opting for another venue for dinner...

Avoid! I don’t like leaving bad reviews but our evening in that establishment was beyond the worst.

We had visited The Goat in the past and higher than average prices were well justified then. But don’t be fooled.

We booked a table to treat our visiting family from U.S. We were given a table on the mezzanine level where we noticed a strong, cold draft coming from the stairs. It was one of the coldest days this winter… We were told the front doors were opened to allow a private party to exit, so we sat with our coats over our legs.

We ordered drinks, no drought beer available! The menu looked similar to what we had in the past, though less food options were available compared to what we saw online. The menu was also dated January 2023?

When our food arrived we were surprised and disappointed at the size of the portions on side plates! The two £17 each Cod dishes were lukewarm- our server offered to replace them but we would have to wait while the others were eating. The cod was less than 2 inches in total! Placed on a bed of plain and unexciting lentils. The monkfish sauce was over spiced and again, served on a side dish. Undercooked and chewy Pizza. Potato flatbread was thin like a crisp and the 3 croquettes were laughable. Calling it ‘a starter’ was an overstatement. Toilets were freezing cold as the back doors were opened and also plates on the table next to us were not cleared through our time there. The server trying to be helpful and we didn’t want to spoil our evening with complaining after a nice day out but when it came to pay I privately explained what a disappointing and embarrassing experience it was for us and we were not offered anything for resolution. On the same evening I received an email to ‘contact them privately’ so I did but the owner ignored my email with ‘I’ve tried to call you’. No apologies offered. We...

Good Afternoon,

I would like to thank all the staff that was working on the 25th of November for my son’s 18th birthday party as they were super kind and open to catering for everyone’s needs at the bar and the DJ with the music.

However I do have a few pointers that I would kindly like for you to consider in the future. As you know, we had been discussing a menu to present and serve for the party. The menu you presented seemed perfect for the occasion, however on the day of delivery was quite different to what many people had ordered.

The calamari were said to be grilled but were fried in the end. They were said to be served with a white wine sauce but were not. The salami croquets were merely a smashed baby potato with folded salami on top and a grating of parmesan. The garlic gambas did not have paprika or parsley they were simply seared and presented on top of a baguette slice. The Chicken sorrentina was said to be served with prosciutto cotton (ham) and was in fact served on a thick grilled slice of aubegerine which was a little bit undercooked too.

I appreciate, but the Menu, was very different when presented and I don’t believe it reflects the price paid for the menu itself. Additionally, a few orders were missing and some people had to wait a while for their food. I guess I would have liked a little headsup about the last minute change in menu as some people were quite excited about their order, only to find it was not really what they ordered in the first place.

Overall the evening went smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves but I wanted to leave this feedback as I feel like a simpler menu may have been more achievable and everyone would have received what they were expecting.

Nevertheless, thank you for everything.

Kind...
