Disappointing I heard quite a bit about this place, some good, some bad,but i guess its the name of the game. I finally decided to go and judge by myself.my wife and I arrived on time, open minded and the welcome was all but welcoming, not even a hello, just have booked? Not the best start. A table was assigned to us,the menu came,we ordered. The starters were quick to come, which is good, unfortunately, quite small,we all know what chicory costs,a very walnuts,a bit of blue cheese, but i guess,it was a starter, therefore meant to be small..or is it not? the tartare followed, yet again quite small,i thought ,well with a bit of bread that will do nicely..it did not.the meat was good though, just poorly seasoned, which for a steak tartare is unfortunate,if not ridiculous. We gave up,paid and left, still hungry and angry.the service is poor,on the verge of clinical, all around not worth the effort, nor te money, one could think that in time of recession, this restaurant and its staff, does NOT need our custom..well good news..we...

Excellent French restaurant in the heart of Chelsea. People who come here are clearly regulars, all greeted by a “Bonjour Monsieur/Madame” as they arrive. The service is extremely professional, fast and efficient. We went for steaks, they had a special with sauce aux morilles which was delicious and served with delicious asparagus and roasted potatoes. We also had a classic sirloin with sauce bearnaise and fries which was delicious. I actually thought the pricing was reasonable for Chelsea and the portion decently sized. Although it was only two of us, we were sat at a nice 4 person table so plenty of room. We were sat in the veranda which I was initially suspicious about given its the winter but its fully heated so even nicer than sitting inside. Complimentary bread and butter was delicious too although you are then hit with a 15% service charge. We paid 105£ for two mains and a dessert.

We were about to dine here this evening but unfortunately because my child is ill we are not able to attend. I was just about the call and cancel when the host called to confirm our table. I politely mentioned sadly we would be unable to make the dinner this evening and offered my sincere apologies. The host proceeded to lecture me, claiming he left many messages to confirm (he did not), that I should have listened to my messages and that he has turned away many tables on account of me. He was an absolute jerk. This was the same man who took my reservation weeks ago and was very short and rude with me on the phone. Will never go here. It costs nothing to be polite on the phone. It was unacceptable behaviour and he...

Great selection of wines. Food selection is also great especially the fish, which is my favourite. But I personally found the fish/mains dish preparations a bit disappointing for the price charged which will include a carb side but no salad or veggies, hence the 4 stars. I have tasted, better fish and beef dishes, in other French restaurants. They don't have a good selection of sides either. The dessert selection also did not have much in the way of hot desserts. Service was of course great. Restaurant gets very busy even on weeknights so best to book in advance. Overall a good experience.
