London Pub MapLondon Pub Map
🚇 South Kensington 🍺 £6.15 Heineken ❤️ A cosy traditional Chelsea boozer. . Nestled on a corner, in the shadow of the Royal Brompton and Royal Marsden hospitals you’ll find The Crown pub. The nearest tube is South Kensington. . This Freehouse was built mid nineteenth century and is one of only a few old school pubs left in Chelsea. . This is a cosy pub which is traditionally decorated with an eclectic mix of wall colours, full marks given for the proper pub carpet. The servery, counter and back bar are all solid dark wood with some nice ornate touches. The pumps were covered in menus which I wasn’t a fan of. In the bar area, seating is limited to a couple of poser tables plus a few stools around some ledges. There are tables and chairs out front if you fancy a imbibing alfresco. At the back of the bar is a dining area which didn’t feel in keeping with the rest of the pub but was bright and airy. . The beer line up was good and included Doom bar on hand pump. I opted for a pint of Heineken, my pint was lively and hit the spot, price point was average for London. The food here is a mix of traditional pub grub plus a popular Thai menu. . I arrived mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the atmosphere was fairly chilled with the exception of a table of six fellas who had been right on it the night before, nice bunch of lads. Then in comes a middle aged woman who ordered a large wine and was on to the next one in no time at all. She proceeded over to the table of lads and started asking them loads of questions about what they’d been up to, then next minute she was gone. . The Crown is a charming little pub which has a few frayed edges which is what I loved about the place. Because of the pubs size, you immediately feel involved in what is going on here. The beer was good and the Thai food draws in the punters. I really enjoyed visiting here, definitely one for the traditionalists. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 26.03.23

Nice Cosy place, very friendly stuff, nice selection of drinks, beer on tap and bar snacks, as well as a Thai menu. Why 3 stars you ask? I can't believe places that serve such a low class, super processed meat still exist. A 90s lifeless, color less burger, with zero taste, and to top it some tasteless cheese as well. Unbelievable disappointment :( I even asked before ordering - is the burger good and was answer yes, not sure why, there is no shame in saying it's not or just removing it from the menu, or just doing decent burgers, it's really not that hard.

Outside the pub they have a notice board clearly offering double spirits for £5.80 and when you order they charge you £11 When I asked why the difference, the young man said “ that’s the house g@t “ No transparency or customer service , and very little presentation ( see pic ) As a customer service trainer myself , small details mean a great deal to the customer and this establishment fell short of the mark

About my check inn just now today; Racist and discriminatory behaviour threatening her supervisor with putting her hands on me. I have been pushed by the waitress she is not allowed to touch me, and laughing when I am trying to explain I want to make early check out. The chef has no respect for the supervisor around 8 times told her she is gonna put her hands on me shaking. I would like to seek legal advice because definitely is a social problem being bullied by the chef requested not to accept my booking because I said its not funny when they are laughing clearly at me (chef and waitress) just now. I am trying to get in touch with the local police. Explaining I am coming from the hospital to the supervisor. And told me first is the head manager in and then forgot my early check in request. Really if you are tired of your job or you just go there to earn a piece of bread better the owner get new stuff and well trained stuff... Is pathetic Coming from the hospital with a life threatening injury (not visible) and getting threatened by the" chef " so many times and pushed by the waitress, for no reason. I hope they not being racist because I have suffered racism in the past and I know how it is like coming from black women. This two girls going that way. Anyways I am a whole woman and it does not bother me I would never understand how can you discriminate people for no reason. Just for not laughing with you . This is a hospitality place to have rest in the morning time... no common sense I hope I get an answer from the head...

My local when working in Chelsea for 8 years and still go back. Friendly staff, great Thai Cuisine and pub food.

Unfortunately, the food has gotten worse since the change in the owner. I wish I had not even ordering any food before the kitchen was shut. I asked for a Red Thai chicken curry, and it was anaemic with barely any colour 👀🤬 more like a watery pale pink! Barmaid was rude to my friend and I and performing a stop clock ⏰️ of 5 minutes. I brought two friends down for Karoake from Hampshire and Shoreditch and they were not impressed with the food. Cheesy chips were not that good and the fish and chips was mediocre. Hardly any mushy peas. Spring rolls are not as good as before a few years back. Red Thai red curry was shocking. Not happy 😒 the only positive was seeing my friends and Karoake night!!! £40 for nothing 😑 should have eaten...
