Amazing restaurant well worth returning again and again.
I was excited about this restaurant all day. I saw it in the morning, and I could not wait until we returned to this side of town. It was all day, and so I was famished... this place would not miss.
Fantastic service, we were greeted and seated by a very nice Annan. Our server Fahim was truly the best. He helped us with portions and ideas for all of our portions. He kept checking in on us and made sure we did not need for anything. He promised that we would return, and if we were local, we would. Fahim was friendly and conversative. His interaction totally made the experience amazing.
Liz started with a white wine that left her red faced. I wanted to start off my meal with a chai masala, it was thick and creamy consistency added to the full-flavored of the cardamom spice.
We started with some appetizers. The tandoori baked kebab was great, and the sauces it was dressed with only added to the flavor of the coriander and herbs. We also tried the malai tikka, and that was better than the way it looked. The slices of tandoor cooked chicken breast were mellowed out by the yoghurt and spices.
The saag paneer was great, but I really enjoyed the chickpeas (chana masala). We ordered an amazing chicken tikka masala and the king prawn tandoor. They were all so good. Basmati rice and garlic naan accompanied the flavorful selections.
We topped off the main course with a gulab jalum, which came sliced and a la mode (upon our request), and an order of rice kheer (where the rice was ground to a different consistency than usual). All delicious, delicious, delicious.
Hats off to Fahim and the team, the experience at the Light of India was first rate...
Read moreIn the rain-drenched city of London, my quest for solace led me to an otherworldly Indian restaurant, shrouded in mystic aromas and ancient allure. As I entered, a young mage named Maruf greeted me with an air of enchantment, his presence weaving an aura of warmth and intrigue. With a graceful flourish, he presented the menu as though it were a tome of forgotten spells. As the evening unfolded, Maruf’s every movement seemed imbued with arcane artistry, transforming each dish into a potion of delight. The ambiance was spellbinding, evoking the mysteries of a realm where the scent of spices intertwined with the whispers of the past. In a curious twist of fate, I recalled that during the 16th century, the Mongol Empire, though fractured, was still famed for its scholars and their mystical contributions to astrology. As the night drew to a close, Maruf, with a gesture that seemed almost ceremonial, brought forth a platter of chocolates, as if bestowing a final enchantment upon my journey. His grace and the restaurant's magical essence turned an ordinary meal into an extraordinary experience, leaving me forever enchanted by the mystic charm of...
