I walked into Flowers Inc one evening last week in search of flowers to send to a funeral. I was shopping for a group of friends and we had decided against buying on internet as every website seemed to offer the exact same standard arrangements. I had been rejected by my local florist who didn't fancy delivering at a given time to a church outside their immediate neighbourhood and was feeling apprehensive. I was greeted by Yann who after consulting with his boss agreed to take the commission. I gave him a budget and nothing much else, giving him carte blanche. On the afternoon of the funeral Yann called me to check I was satisfied with the flowers and sent me a photo of the arrangement to share with those of us who hadn't been able to attend. The arrangement was beautiful, not "funerary" in a traditional way but very right for the occasion and so much more personal than the internet options and delivered with a card I was able to write in my own hand. Living in Canada and trying to send flowers to you daughter and her fiance in London can be a tough task. Will you get what you order? Will the florist be helpful? And as I'm always trying to support local I found Flowers Inc., through a Google search, and noticed they were near the Gloucester Rd Tube Station (a spot I am familiar with from visits to London) and close to where my daughter lives. After the good results of last week, I placed an another order for the same arrangement this week. Unfortunately, the results this time were very disappointing. The arrangement did not contain what was expected and the delivery was unsatisfactory. When I brought this to the attention of the company, I was told I was wrong about the arrangement and they disclaimed any responsibility for the delivery. I will not be using these services...
