Sub par experience.
I don't have much to say, I have seen Beefeater at different locations in London and I was never reluctant to try it. I am not much of a meat person.
Welcoming host (also manager) was nice to us when booking us in, she showed us to our table of two. Table was clean, cutlery was all clean. But menus were not clean, it is not a complain but nit picking, I had to wash my hands before eating.
I was happy with the food but unhappy with few things regarding the service. I was happy with the food and drink, mango vodka, and food was the Stack burger. The burger itself I would say was decent, there was nothing special or particular about it that makes me want to come back to Beefeater again. I liked the skinny chips that comes with the burger, it was balanced in terms of salting. Though for their famous 74 sauce, I would say nothing special because they taste like normal barbecue sauce and Sriracha sauce.
Now for the few things I was unhappy with. My wife asked for Medium rare steak and she got well done. The server said that was the last type of steak they had, which felt strange to me. We spoke to the manager and manager said the same but she compensated us to a on the house dessert. It almost felt like they didn't want to cook another steak.
My drink was a passion mango vodka, and it was supposed to come with passion fruit garnish, but the lady serving said they don't have any garnish as they ran out. I said would they reduce my payment because of this? She said no, then few minutes later she comes with a slice of passion fruit, which she said they found one laying somewhere. My wife's drink spritz mango passion fruit, but she said she couldn't taste any mango passion, as the prosecco was rather strong or overpowering.
My burger stack was supposed to come with 74 barbecue sauce on the side, but mine did not come with it. I asked the manager if my burger comes with the sauce, she said the sauce is inside the burger. I was confused because I did not taste any sauce, even my burger was not ozzing out sauces. However manager was so nice to provide me a bowl of 74 sauce.
I was not happy with the experience, because it felt like they usually give a subpar service and majority of their guest are hotel guest. And these people are unaware of the "cutting corners" beef eaters does, so customers don't complain. But if you are aware of the service of your food and drink, and you complain, beef eaters excuse is they don't have any in stock. Or I might be wrong and they were not expecting large influx of customers due to lack of staffs.
Manager was understanding, as she compensated for the wrong food delivered. The dessert presentation and taste was weak, despite that being the New product and the most expensive dessert on the menu. The mens toilet was out of order, and someone or some people made a mess in the disabled toilet. Waiting time was fine, our drinks came within 10mins of ordering. Our food took almost 30mins I believe to be served. The dessert took just less than 5mins, which proved my worrying of being disappointed by the taste.
I would not recommend this restaurant, it is good for hotel guest as Premier Inn hotel is built within it. Initially I would give this place a 2 stars, but because of the nice, hard working manager, I gave it 3 stars. Manager was just let down by lack of...
Read moreUnfortunately can’t say it was a good experience. Working in hospitality for years myself and my husband being a chef, I am probably a bit harsh/picky but here is my honest review.
You don’t ask if a Heineken should be served with ice 🤣 My steak was ordered medium. It came extremely well done/burned. I originally ordered a fillet. Had to wait 15 minutes for it to be redone whilst my family ate. I received a medium steak but it wasn’t a fillet. The peppercorn sauce was just brown water with 1-2 peppercorn in them. No flavour. My FIL ordered a pink lamb something. The portion was tiny and it was well done. 2 portions of ribs were also ordered. No sauce was on the actual ribs, had to ask for extra that came in a small dipping bowl. Luckily it was small as it was awful. My MIL and daughter always order ribs when eating out and both said it was poor and only ate it as they were hungry. The “loaded fries” had the tiniest amount of cheese, raw chopped onions & tomato and tiny portion. Definitely not worth the £4. The onion rings also not worth mentioning. The desserts are ok, the vanilla ice cream definitely isn’t vanilla. It might say it on the packaging but no flavour to it at all.
Overall the service was poor, we waited 20 minutes from finishing our mains for someone to even clear our table & ask if we wanted anything else.
Refills for drinks could of been easily 4-5 rounds. Unfortunately we were never asked, we had to flag someone down ourselves after drinking our own water we bought with us.
Cutlery was left in the table after our meals and empty glasses were not taken away when the new ones eventually arrived.
We waited another 15 minutes for someone to come and clear the table so we could ask for the cheque. Nobody came, even after we started getting up to leave. My FIL had to flag someone down to eventually pay.
The womens toilets are just filthy. 1 toilet, the whole toilet lid was on the floor next to the toilet. The second toilet was locked. The third toilet was clearly blocked, water rising to near top & wouldn’t flush properly. Toilet paper everywhere and generally not very clean.
We asked for a high chair on our booking and on arrival, never received one so had our baby on our laps the whole time.
I don’t expect 5 star service from a chain, but I do expect some level of service when eating out, I also expect the food to be good and the chef to know how to cook a steak. It’s not a cheap place to eat and the standards all around have to be better.
Staff should have sections.we had 3 waitresses at different times none came to our table more than once. Staff shouldn’t be standing around the hot plate waiting for food to come that hasn’t even been plated yet. That time could be used to check on customers. Cleaning supplies shouldn’t be on display. Cutlery should be cleared completely. And at least come over every 15 minutes to ask if everything is ok,refills etc.
If you decide to go, don’t expect anything more than mediocre service or lack of flavour in food. Basic hygiene is also an issue.
I would love to say it was extremely busy but when we arrived there was only 2 small tables seated. There was just no excuse for the...

I booked at the adjective Premier Inn hotel with a meal deal for this restaurant. I ordered the sampler option (a selection of 3 small beef cuts). The beef was poor and very fatty, which was frustrating as this option came at a £7 supplement to the deal. I ordered a beer to be told that all beers were off due to a cooling issue, I therefore had to make do with house red wine.
On wanting to pay the £7 extra I requested the bill. The bill came after 5-10 minutes (I appreciate the staff work hard and have lots to do) and the waiter said he would get the card machine. I waited a further for 10-15 minutes, in this time I made it clear I was waiting by standing up at the table. Nothing came. I walked over to the bar to be told the card machine was not working. I said I needed to go, gave my room number and said I would be back in the morning for breakfast and would sort the payment then.
I returned in the morning for breakfast and met the manager who had been on the night before (a clear indication of how hard they must work) and requested to pay the seven pound. In a rather terse manner she explained that she had to cash up short, and that the £7 was now recorded as a loss. She said the card machine started working again 10mins after I left. I explained I was tired and needed to go to bed. I also highlighted that the meat had been poor and the idea of paying a supplement for it was ironic, noting that the receipt had included a note to report anything you weren’t satisfied with. In effect she then told me off for having not raised this while eating the meal, which I found to be rather an unusual reaction to a customer complaint. She then advised that I needed to communicate this at the right time.
I went on to have an additional conversation with the manager, in which I raised the ironic point that no one from the serving staff had explained the card machine was not working and instead left me waiting for circa 15mins with no explanation and it was I that had to enquire. She found this difficult to justify and simply shutdown the conversation, in again a terse manner.
Summary- poor quality meat, poor atmosphere, and very poor customer service. Hopefully the restaurant will improve following this...
