Lastest Review After Revisiting Dial Arch (01/06/23) Upgraded: 3 to 5 stars We recently had the opportunity to revisit DA and had an entirely different experience compared to our previous visit. The previous time we went, it was incredibly busy, which unfortunately affected the quality of service and food. However, this time around, we were pleasantly surprised by the remarkable improvements in both aspects.
The food was impeccable. The steak I ordered was now tender and expertly seasoned. But the chicken supreme dish and the lamb croquettes were really the highlight.
Our server, Ollie, made the experience truly outstanding. He was attentive, I happened to have noticed he was glancing at our table every now and then, ensuring that all our needs were met, making us feel valued and well taken care of.
Our recent experience highlighted the dedication of the staff in overcoming challenges. We look forward to returning in the future.
——- Updated Review (29/05/23)
I recently had an opportunity to interact with Andre, the General Manager of Dial Arch. He reached out to me about my dining experience. I am thrilled to say that his response exceeded my expectations, and I am compelled to update my review accordingly.
Andre explained the situation and showed genuine concern and was accommodating in addressing my feedback. It was evident that they were passionate about improving their food and operations to provide a better experience for their customers.
While it didn’t change what I experienced when I visited the restaurant, I believe in acknowledging their efforts to investigate the issue and listen to customers. I am delighted to update my initial rating by an additional star.
I look forward to visiting again soon and experiencing the positive changes firsthand.
Updated Rating: 3 stars (from 2 stars)
Best regards, Louis
—————- Original Review:
I recently visited this restaurant for a meal, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I feel it is important to share my thoughts so that both the management and potential customers can be aware of the issues I encountered.
First and foremost, the restaurant was super busy during my visit. While I understand that busy periods can be challenging, it seemed that the staff were overwhelmed and struggling to keep up. Regrettably, 2 of our orders were forgotten and delayed, which meant that everyone else at my table had already finished their meals by the time they arrived. This lack of attention and delay in service was quite frustrating.
To make matters worse, the steak I ordered, while the doneness was correct, was disappointingly tough and chewy. It felt like I was attempting to consume a piece of rubber rather than a quality cut of meat. The lack of tenderness and flavor greatly detracted from my overall dining experience.
Moreover, the restaurant seemed to be in disarray. The person who looked like the manager couldn't be bothered. Maybe due to being overworked and understaffed. It took us a while to get seated. The reservation system is useless. I honestly get better service in Nando’s than here.
On a positive note, the staff members were friendly, despite their evident overwork. They were doing their best to handle the demanding workload, but it was clear that the restaurant was understaffed. I strongly suggest that the management reassess their staffing situation and training to ensure a better dining experience for their customers.
Given the numerous shortcomings I experienced, I regret to say that I won't be returning to this restaurant for meals. However, if you're looking for a place to grab drinks, it might still be worth considering, as the atmosphere and beverages could potentially be more enjoyable than the dining experience.
Overall, my visit to this restaurant was disappointing, largely due to the forgotten orders, delayed service, tough steak, and disorganized management. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant to make improvements in their operations and provide better experiences for...
Read moreEvery time I visit the Dial Arch, which is often, I feel the need to write a review, but restrictions on this mean I must save my praise and share it all in one big info-dump.
I’ve been a regular, longer than probably any other, having lived in the area for over 2-decades, and I have to say that, under the leadership of Andre, this local bar has become the most inclusive and welcoming of venues.
As an inclusion and wellbeing specialist, I am especially attuned to how diverse the staff are and how this attracts a range of customers.
Andre has created a safe space for the community, where all are welcomed, not for the money they spend but for their unique and diverse characteristics, which make the Dial Arch a genuinely physical and psychologically safe space.
It was especially encouraging when homophobic patrons were encouraged to improve their behaviour toward us by the supportive bar staff, Rob and Kyle.
We were reassured and felt that we belonged and that no form of disrespect was acceptable.
I refer to Andre’s leadership and customer-focussed approach in so many of my Inclusive Leadership workshops, as an illustration of how important it is to have a diverse workforce who represent the wider community, and can’t stress how important this is, not only to business success but also to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the community.
I, like many others, are grateful for this oasis of kindness and respect in a world that can be hostile towards those who happen to be from minority communities.

Read moreWe came yesterday for a Sunday roast for my cousins birthday as she’d travelled to London from Derby. We opted for the trio of meats on the menu (which didn’t specify what meats you could choose) Neither of us eat pork therefore we asked for the 3 alternative meat options to which the head chef said no. We then said okay, well if we’re paying for a trio then please could we have 2 pieces of lamb and one piece of chicken - to which the Chef said no again!
Our lovely waitress did all she could to try and get the head chef to understand, but evidentially he was either having a bad day or just really doesn’t care for his customers. It’s absurd if you ask me as we were paying £30 for a roast which I would say is the higher end of the spectrum!
It was a shame as this was our first time visiting Dial Arch and I thought this may be a nice new local, but the chef being so difficult and rude to be frank really ruined our experience and I can’t say I would be back to eat in the restaurant.
Claudia our waitress was amazing, such a wonderful kind soul and she did speak with management and was able to do something alternative for which we were very appreciative. But we shouldn’t have had to go through all that ordeal over a roast!
Claudia was professional, empathetic and understood completely where we were coming from so we couldn’t have been happier with Claudia’s service she is a great asset to your team!
The food itself was really nice, I cannot fault that. However, I have never experienced such drama when going for a Sunday roast, nor felt so condemned for not eating a particular meat! I think your head chef needs to change his attitude to be honest as he ruined our experience which isn’t great for the Dial...
