Where shall I start.
Well, we wanted to use the "eat out" scheme to support the local businesses and came across with this Italian restaurant. After the reviews that I seen on eat in / takeaway I was a bit concerned but hey we only live once.
Though it would be a good idea that instead of only me and my book I take my parents out therefore called and booked the table.Arrived, got seated no issues, all looked good started to feel better.. then we got the food....
It looked OK, nothing special.. if you go out just because you seen some pictures then you wrong... food is the main aim..
Spaghetti carbonara, pasta arabiata, pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce (sorry don't know the exact name) and a margarita pizza to share.. what can go wrong??
Carbonara =since when we putting chilli 🌶 in the dish chef?
Arabiata = now I love spice food, I really do.. but are we serious with the scoville level of your dish??
Meatball: now here some real concern.. tomato sauce.. well it was watery, lumps of tomatoes (can) in the bottom of the bowl covered with Spaghetti (nothing to do with home made or special) and couple of dried out balls.. please...
Margarita pizza: now I really want to know if you eating your ice cream with chilli powder / flake...
All in all, the heat level, taste of the dishes not really my cup of tea and for people who actually enjoy italian I do have one suggestion: COOK THESE DISHES AT HOME or find a better restaurant.
Not only the food but the service could do with major improvements but let's talk about their way of service another day.
I tried to help out but won't be trying again to help this establishment. Many thanks for your...
Read moreAlways loved Luigis but so upset with they way I was treated last night I won’t be dinning their again.
I ordered a £83.50 deliveroo order , when it arrived x 3 dishes were missing at a cost of £32.50.
I called the restraunt to speak to someone about the order as we were x3 meals short. The man on the phone told me to take it up with the deliveroo as they don’t know what i ordered. I tried to explain what was missing and he said “ I don’t receive orders “ I asked how he made any part of my order without receiving it. He then said “ I can’t understand you “ and out the phone down.
I called back to say I can’t believe you have put the phone down on me as as regular customer all I wanted to know is if I can have the rest of my meal that I’ve paid for he said I dont know what it was so I began reading the order to him he then shouted I don’t know what your talking about , I asked to speak to Luigi or someone else instead and he hung up on me again.
I’ve never been more disappointed with the treatment I received. I was more annoyed about the customer service than I was about the missing food at a fairly large expense to me.
A real shame as the food is...
Read moreFirstly, I must start by saying that this review is based on a Sunday visit. I say this so early on as the menu is, so I understand, different to the rest of the week (SPOILER ALERT: An Italian restaurant that doesn't really serve Italian food!).
On a Sunday, there is a fixed menu which comprises the following: Starter- a cold buffet (caveat: a bit of Italian food in the form of cold pizza and salami) which is reminiscent of party food. Main- Choice of roast dinner. Yep, roast dinner. The one 'Italian' option was Chicken Milanese, which I had. This was served with roast potatoes (you read right) and no sauce, so was all very dry. The actual chicken was good, but I needed a lot of water to help it go down. Desert- choice of various 1980s style deserts.
I must confess, I was pretty disappointed. I was really looking forward to actually having Italian food and to be faced with frankly pub grub was a shame. Also, it was all quite expensive- £22 per head.
The best part of the meal was the fantastic accordion player- he played something very special on request which personally meant...
