Visited the market place on a Bank Holiday Sunday evening. Nice atmosphere when I entered and a bit of a buzz. The place has obviously had a much need investment and looked lovely. Walked round the stalls and was not impressed with either the choice or the prices (paying 7.5 for a precooked pratha with a kebab inside isn't my idea of value for money, also no burgher place surprisingly). The prices do not reflect where it is located and in some instances are more expensive than eating at Box Park for example which in my opinion offer much better value. We eventually settled on a place called Farmhouse Kebab and ordered the platter for two at a cost of £26. After a short wait we picked up our food and we were so disappointed. The food would have fed one person adequately but not two - so went back and asked if he had provided the right portions. He confirmed it was. What we got was 2 wings, half a kebab, 2 pieces of chicken and lamb and very small rib cut into 4. Lots of bread and a few chips. Accompanying this was a very tiny amount of humous, chilli sauce and a very tiny amount of cucumber and tomatoes. To top it all the food was cold and salty - obviously they don't have the facility of a decent kitchen to cook it all at the same time. So overall, overpriced, very small portions, cold and not very tasty - other than that was brilliant. At these prices you would be better off visiting one of the many better value restaurants in the town centre. Avoid,...

Read moreThis place is exactly what harrow needed. Somewhere lively and buzzing to kick your feet up and have a drink and food without feeling tacky or too casual. Over the last ten years or so harrow has seen a massive demographic change with people being pushed out of inner London and zone 3 due to gentrification and has attracted a new class of people that have no class (for the lack of a better term). The pints poured were of a good standard and were reasonably priced and the grub served up was of an exceptional quality. The place was spick and span and we couldn’t go at least two minutes without finishing a drink or food item before a member of staff would clear our table. I highly recommend the meantime ipa, halloumi fries from the Persian stall and the chicken shawarma from the Turkish vendor. One star has been knocked off for the inclusion of sides taking up a unit, they’re could’ve been a better choice, I’m not interested in the ventures of YouTubers/influencers. Also the pizza vendor was naff; £6 for a reheated slice of pizza is steep when considering you can get a full Neapolitan pizza in central for just over a tenner. The toilets were clean too. I highly recommend checking...
