I really don’t like feeling like I’ve been robbed blind, but that’s my experience after being hit with a £95 bill for 3 adults. For breakfast. I ordered a Turkish breakfast. It’s interestingly displayed on their menu. It says £16.90 per person. Well, I’m one person so I’ll get that. It also says, separately, for 2 people. But I don’t see this. It doesn’t mean much stand alone anyway. When I order the waiter says it’s pretty big and I say that’s fine. When we get the bill it’s £33. Why? It’s £16.50 per person. MINIMUM 2 people. This is the part they leave out or don’t mention - even when they have an opportunity to. I really can’t stand the lack of transparency. The whole reading between the lines or ‘easy to miss.’ It’s just… cheeky. It’s already expensive. The quality is ok. It’s not incredible. The shakshukas are alright - a little snotty in the eggs but that’s probably hard to get right en masse. It’s disappointing leaving somewhere and feeling like you’ve basically been robbed. Would I have ordered a minimum 2 person meal for 1 person if I had known or it was clear? No. Is it easy to make it clear? Yes. Do they choose to do so? No. So £33 later I leave with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. And that’s not just from the snotty eggs. Also - £5.50 for a freshly pressed juice that’s 75% ice? I guess that’s what you can expect from these kind of chains.

Brunch for a group of 9 including kids, reserved in-advance, no problems there. The majority of us ordered the Megan’s Turkish Brunch Feast, with either the suçuk (Turkish chorizo) or halloumi. Per Brunch Feast, there was plenty of variety to be shared among two people, all of which were fresh, had decent flavour (shakshouka was a little tame), and well presented. The portion of bread does need to be a little more particularly as this is designed to be shared with two adults, but you can just about scrimp it. The small pots were great, particularly the hot honey and candled walnuts. I also tried a side order of loaded hashbrowns, because why not when described as having piri piri and date bbq sauce drizzled on top. I recommend you eat these while hot before they cool down, but not spectacular and can easily pass on them. The atmosphere doesn’t quite live up to the other Megan’s branches, as it seems to have less decorative elements, and the table could have had a more thorough clean. That said, the service stood out here. Staff were attentive, accommodating, and helpful, making it a pleasant experience overall.

I've done breakfast, brunch, and dinner at Megan’s and the food and service have been consistent. I've had the pleasure of being served by Shubra, Careesha, and Adah and they were all so lovely. My husband and I have been going back every week since our first visit on the 24th of April. The food, the atmosphere. Everything has been a hit for us. It is family-friendly and just a lovely place to spend time with your loved ones. It was my mother-in-law's birthday today we brought her and my father-in-law here once more, it was a big hit for them as expected. This visit and the last visits, we ordered Megan's cookie dough dessert and were pleasantly surprised both times that was on the house;))) my only suggestion right now is to make vegan options for the desert because I want in!!! I'm allergic to dairy and I am so jealous. Well done to the whole team!! You've done a good job with the staff, food, and space. I hope you keep people around who understand the organizational culture. PS-We had Megan’s platter for 2 and skewers for 2. Sorry, I couldn't capture that!

A 100% fail I am sorry to say. I rang in the afternoon to book in the new Lordship Lane branch and was told they are on a walk in basis, so not to worry and pop in. We arrived at 8:55 pm. Were not even greeted with a hello, just told kitchen was closed. We then asked about Dulwich Village branch and had a response that they close “around 9 or 10” Not overly helpful. We headed up there anyway. We approached a young man and asked if kitchen was open, of which he hesitated a yes. It was very quiet and we chose a booth next to kitchen. He gave us the menu and we ordered some drinks. We then over heard the young chap asking the chef what time do they close. We asked to order as we felt in the way as the chef glared at us through the pass. After being there over 20 minutes, we asked to order. Our order was for a few of the chicken dishes and were only then told they had no chicken at all. This should have been told to us as we sat considering there are many dishes containing chicken. We would have left but we had a drink already . We ordered the calamari and a cauliflower bowl. It arrived in 3 mins as if the chef couldn’t get away fast enough. The calamari was definitely frozen and then just chucked into the fryer. Greasy and inedible. I was already so embarrassed that I had asked my friend to come to the restaurant, I went up to pay as my guest was in the loo. The 2 young members of staff were engrossed on a video on their phone , which I had to interrupt. The young man who claimed to be the manager, asked how everything was, only as we were paying, not as we were eating. I shared my view on calamari and he said “oh, sorry” Such a disappointment. Considering it’s a new venue, especially Lordship Lane branch , you think you would be more keen to 1) be consistent on kitchen hours and 2) have more...

This is the second time I'd been to Megan's in the Hamlet. The first time I walked in, I was roundly ignored by wait staff and the manager. Eventually somebody waved me towards a seat and then ignored me - not so much as a menu - for 15 minutes.

In the full understanding that everybody and everything has bad days (or perhaps as a glutton for punishment,) I came back. Again, I was ignored by wait staff until the very brusque manager - constantly shouting at the poor waitresses - curtly pointed at some seats. I thought about leaving then, but then I though, well, they don't seem that busy, maybe I'm in for some luck. I sat down, then...nothing. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes, then meekly attempted to do a little eye contact and a wave just so I could get my hands on a menu. Honestly, all the wait staff and the manager...I swear I could have burst into flames and shot rockets from my eyes and they'd have still ignored me.

Then the tactless manager pushed past my table, moving it and making physical contact with me. Surely now he'll look down and see me waiting, seeing as he inadvertently touched me? OF COURSE HE DIDN'T. I was just furniture, not a customer.

I sat and stewed for a moment, then saw the table next to me who had arrived long after me was getting their smoothies. Apparently they were worthy of a menu and I was not.

I got up and left - not before pushing my chair back in. Just because they're rude doesn't mean I have to be. Somebody shouted after me, but it was much too late. I went around the corner and suddenly became visible again. I had fantastic service and a fabulous pastry without any of the rudeness.

Reading the other reviews, it appears that this branch of Megan's has this same...
