“Megan’s" has long been one of my favorite restaurants, known for its delicious dishes and generally great service. My recent experience, while initially disappointing, was ultimately made much better due to the manager's excellent handling of the situation.
I visited for breakfast and coffee, and after paying my bill, I was handed a card offering a free drink for my next visit, which I appreciated. However, when I returned to redeem the offer, I was surprised to find that the card was only valid for an alcoholic drink, which I cannot consume due to my religious beliefs. When I politely asked the waitress if the card could be applied to a coffee instead, she ignored my request and did not offer any apology or suitable alternative. I felt disappointed by her lack of consideration.
Thankfully, when I spoke to the manager about the situation, they were incredibly understanding and professional. They apologized for the miscommunication, reassured me that the card would indeed apply to a coffee, and provided me with the coffee as promised. The manager's response was thoughtful, and it went a long way in restoring my faith in the restaurant's commitment to customer service.
That said, I do feel that some of the morning staff, particularly the tall Eastern European waitress, may benefit from additional customer service training and sensitivity to the diverse needs of patrons. While my issue was resolved, I believe that attention to the staff's approach and attitude would improve the overall experience for all customers.

Read moreI have been to Megans on a few occassions. I found this specific branch to be outstanding in the way they appreciate and serve thier diners. This is why I chose to have my 60th Celebration here on sunday 11th May 25. Luke- the manager, was very warm and welcoming. He had a pre- celebration mtg with me to confirn my requests and also made some suggestions to enharnce my vision. I was so impressed with how easy the mtg and arrangements were concluded, to my specific preference, I was stress free. Luke was unable to supervise my special day personally, but left his very capable deputy-Mariya to carry out my requests, which she did with such professional calm and ease. I would also like to commend her staff: Jordan, Aleena and Dev, who also exhibited the same proffessional etticate as Mariya. They ensured my family wanted for nothing. The food was excellent. Hot, fresh and tasty. They served all 57 of my party within 15 mins from the first course to the last. My family have healthy appetites and they were taking food home as they were unable to finish thier generous portions. The atmosphere wowed me, beautiful. They rearranged the rear of the restaurant so beautifully for me, the pictures are stunning. The atmosphere was just how I anticipated it. All in all a very beautiful time for me and my family/guests. My thanks and great appreciation to Luke, Mariya and all the staff at Megans On The Hill in Balham. Absolutely hands down, one of the best restaurants of Balham, and possibly the SW London area.

Read moreA group of us went for a birthday dinner on a Sunday and left highly disappointed. We were greeted by a not so friendly bartender to begin with. None of the workers bothered even faking a smile. One of the waitresses who we later found out was one of the managers, named Maria, had not only an attitude but was rude as well. They are advertising a deal for cocktails called nightcap after 9pm. When we asked her about it she informed us the place actually closes at 9pm, in which case we asked how do we order it, to which she answered “you don't” without any further explanation. Later on as we try to order the set menu in which a cheese fondue was listed in the starters, we were told it counts as two starters which is anything but misleading. Another response we had from the lady is when everybody was feeling very hot and had to fan themselves with a menu, I asked if they can put the air-conditioning on and I was told, it is already on so how can we be feeling hot?… At the the end we were given a little voucher for a free glass of wine and since there was more time we tried to redeem it and then we were told you have to order a main course in order to receive it.
