Mel's Cafe — Restaurant in London

This is a really nice cafe. Me and my mum go here regularly if we go to queens hospital, as it is just opposite, and it is nice to go there if we arrive early for an appointment. It has a restroom. The only disappointing thing is it does not cater for gluten-free and dairy-free options. But on the exception I can eat here with my mum and drink here. I had a nice Cappuccino and my mum had a black coffee. I had a custom-made veggie breakfast with poached egg, bubble and squeak (did not enjoy this), vegetarian sausage, brown toast, halloumi (generous portion). My mum had baked beans, fried egg, fried mushroom (she was trying to work out if they were out of a tin or fresh and hoping they were fresh), toast, sausage. She said she enjoyed her meal. As the portions were so generous neither of us could finish the food. If you have good appetite you can definitely eat here well :) I was tempted to try the Spanish omelette or a baked potato. They also have nice salad options. I have a proper coffee making machine with espresso coffee and to make latte and cappuccino. I recommend this place 100% The manager? Was a really nice man and he was going much over the job by being kind to everyone helping people with mobility problem in and out of the cafe. The staff here are very very kind. And the hygiene quality...

Mells cafe use to be the best around. Since it been taken over the food is well over priced for what it is.i dont mind paying if its quality.but its not.think food is from lidl.sausage was terrible.botom slice in sandwich was soft ,top slice was hard.like it been siting out of bag.its a shame wont be going back.felt ript of.cant use cheep product and charge top priced,when thete plenty of cafs to...

If you've ever seen a movie with a scene in an 80's small town cafe, you'll know what to expect at Mel's Cafe. Walking in, you're hit with the feeling of a local "Mom & Pop" operation. The service had that personal touch you only seem to get from an owner/operated business. The food was great... simple, but tasty, well portioned and reasonably priced.
