Mr Firewater cafe — Restaurant in London

I had a quite a disspointing meal here this evening. A very limited menu and high prices. The food itself was nothing the write home about. It was fresh and did the job but portions were small. The food came out extremely hot- I know, this is a sign it is freshly cooked but they gave no time for the food to cool down,which meant we had to sit with our food cooling down for at least 5 minutes. I actually would have preferred it served a few minutes later, instead of taking piping hot first bites out of everything and then having to stop eating until it was palatable. The noodles was my big bug bare- We ordered the vegetable noodles, which came very few noodles and had lots of veg...mostly large slices of onion. When I told the waiter,he said he would tell the chef. Nothing happened. I was then asked by,what seemed by one of the owners,if we enjoyed our meal and I said there were very few noodles, she then responded saying that we should have ordered the plain noodles if we wanted more noodles and we needed to understand there were vegetables in the vegetable noodels. I said I knew that and if I wanted mostly veg, I would have ordered stir fried veg not veg noodles. She then smiled and walked off. What I wanted was an apology and, if the first waiter had done anything about it, then to be offered another portion of noodles or some other carb to replace that or have had it taken off the bill. I thought it was incredibly inconsiderate of the staff to not address the issue. At £80 for two main dishes,a plate of 'noodles', 4 prawn dumplings, 4 slices of prawn toast,some prawn crackers and 2 alcoholic drinks- I could have spent my money better at another restaurant. Pricey, with nothing to offer than being in a prime position in crouch end,if you fancy a chinese meal. I should have gone and had French food(which I also fancied), I could have had a classy steak and frites and some nice plonk for that money and the restaurant also might have had some...

Had a family dinner here for my son's birthday. 6 people with lot's of dishes ordered. Food was amazing everyone enjoyed what they ordered crispy chili prawns so delicious, ribs succulent and flavourful, curried beef melts in your mouth and kung-po chicken is yummilicious. I haven't even begun to describe the vermicelli. Everything cooked fresh in a open kitchen, so you get to smell the delicious dishes being prepared. Needless to say we are making it our new regular. Atmosphere and surroundings are comfortable welcoming and relaxed and the service was second to none. They also went over and beyond to sing, Happy Birthday to my Son, with a candle icecream. They didn't even know until we got there that it was a birthday dinner. What an Amazing dining experience. Thank you...

Tried for first time today , sorry to say very poor , menu is confusing stating specials but there just sauces on meats , I had pancake rolls which were very similar to Iceland type frozen ones also burnt very tasteless with just carrot and peas inside , prawns in black beef so so oily not good and special fried rice which was very average at best , I did try to give polite feedback rather than complain but it kinda went over there heads as o said o couldn’t eat the prawns as just way to slimy and greasy , the lady just asked if I wanted to take it home with me instead , this place won’t last unless they up the quality…...
