Today l visited this cafe for a casual tea with a friend which turned out to be quite disappointing, leading me to give it a one-star. I ordered one tea and one hot chocolate which amounts to 6.4£, but the cashier charged me 8.40£ due to a mistake, anyways when l said it should be 6.4£ she refunded me the 2.2£, yet she did the same when l first time visited there. Amidst this confusion, an elderly man with a cane entered, asking for tea. The cashier said that they are closed, which is not true, l assumed he was homeless initially, hence she refused. However, when he persisted and ordered, the cashier displayed rudeness by serving the tea in a plastic container instead of a regular cup. But what’s more surprising the man paid, sorry but in these blessed days like Christmas no elderly deserves such treatment, even if the cashier was having a bad day. This experience left me uncomfortable and dissatisfied. The cashier's behaviour and the confusion at the cashier desk show short of basic customer service standards. I hope this feedback encourages the management to address these issues for a more positive customer experience...
Read moreSo, with the continued gentrification of Harringay and the Green Lanes area in particular, it was only a matter of time for a fancy coffee shop to appear. BANG .. and a few of them have now appeared on Green Lanes. This particular one is the closest one to me as a live on Chesterfield Gardens. Initial impressions are nice, free Wi-fi, fancy hot drinks and plenty of hipster folk on MacBooks working remotely! What makes this place slightly different is that it has a more community friendly feel. There is a small area at the back from children’s groups and I imagine other musical based events/groups that the local area population can use.
I’m not a huge coffee drinker but the prices seem in keeping with other independent coffee shops. The food isn’t cheap but if you’re going to these places, you must manage your expectations!
The vibe is nice, it’s a good location to people watch and the bus stop is just outside! Try...
Read moreI go here practically every day and have done for over a year - it's great coffee and about 30 seconds away from where I live. The food is consistently really good, great place for brunch if you wanna #treatyoself
The only reason I'm dropping one star is that there's sometimes a bit of inconsistency quality-wise when it comes to who makes your coffee. I'd say the majority of the baristas make good drinks, they're lovely people and now know my order so well they sometimes start making it as soon as I walk in 😂 There are however one or two who don't seem so experienced. I've had some drinks that were burned, or been charged for an extra shot but not given one. This has only happened recently so maybe they're just less experienced and just need a little more training or something.
Shout out to the great ones though, they're what keeps me coming back all the time and both the coffee and conversation is...
