The service was strange and it seemed they didn't care. It's either the service is like this OR it can be the other: Basically me and my wife walked in, we asked for a table for 2, they presented a table to us, but my wife asked politely whether it was possible to sit at a table she pointed at. I then realised the waiter started saying something to his colleague (the body language seemed like he was not happy about it). It was from this point onwards that our experience with the service started to get silly. each time someone came around, it was a different waiter/waitress (remember each supposed to have their own station to look after).. Seems like each were curious to know who we were after the unhappy waiter on the seating intention.
they didn't offer us the complimentary Turkish teas at the end.
I asked for the desert menu, the guy printed out the bill. As if they wanted to get rid of us. He then only provided one menu and not 2. My wife got up to grab one for herself.
I had an empty glass in front of me, leaning slightly towards my wife whilst having a conversation. A waitress just walked passed and snatch the glass close to me like a pickpocket and disappeared. She didn't even stop to ask if the glass can be taken away.
What great professionalism (5 star for bad service).
To the owners / managers,
If you cared to read my review, please spare your apologies. Sack your current team of waitresses/waiters and recruit fresh blood for those who do care about good excellent customer service. For now, you have lost one of your most potential customers who would have been...
Read moreThis used to be my favourite Turkish restaurant in London, until last Sunday when I realised that the service, quality of food and overall ambience was destroyed with the establishments efforts to churn as many customers/tables as possible. The signature dish Antep lahmacun was reheated and not freshly made - for being the most expensive lahmacun in London it can and should be made on the spot. The waiters seemed stressed out as they were trying to rush the service. The restaurant had way too many tables and due to the decor, it was a very loud and stressful environment. Definitely not a place you can go with your loved ones to enjoy a slow evening meal and a conversation. If you are simply after big portions at decent prices, then it may be for you, but as a Turkish person I can clearly see the flaws and the difference in quality and service depending on the day and time you visit this restaurant. Not to forget, kunefe the warm desert was also not available and we were told to go next door, meaning I had to wait with my 2 month old baby and the rest of my family. I'm writing this with the hope that the owner refocused on providing authentic Antep cuisine and a quality service rather than how much money he can make at...
Read moreThis is the best doner you will find in the UK!!!
I've lived in London my entire life and have had a lamb doner is countless places. This place does not even compare to the others!!
The doner is made from lamb and beef. It is cut in really thin strips and is rather tasty. There is no bad smell, no part of the meat is chewy and it is consistently beautiful.
I recently visited Istanbul and this doner is the closest any UK shop has been to an authentic Turkish doner. It was actually better than most the ones I had in Turkey!!
You don't even need the sauces much, but the ones they do have are delicious.
I will not be eating a doner kebab anywhere else!!!!
We also had the chicken shish which is made from lovely boneless chicken thighs! This was also lovely.
You must try this place!
I went to Antepliler Doner rather than the restaurant as this small cafe of theirs sell doner kebabs. The restaraunt provides a different menu and I have heard that is also delicious but am yet to try it!!
P.S - The Kunefi was good. Not the best I've had (which was in Mado (Istanbul)) but it is nice.
Unfortunately didn't try the Bakalva as I was stuffed from the gorgeous...
