So disappointed! Came to green lanes especially for the food as no longer live in London! Unfortunately we went to Diyarbakir kitchen, traveled 2 hours to dine at a traditional turkish, we picked the wrong one, should have gone to Hala or Gokyuzu instead. First of all we were rudely ushered to a table that was still being cleaned and unable to get through because the tables beside had guests both leaving and arriving so there was no space. The waiter seemed frustrated that we patiently waited for the people to move and for the table to be cleaned. We had someone joining us and despite being told countless times they set the table for one less! Next the waiter seemed irritated as I took a while deciding what I was going to order. They brought out the chips way before the mains so they got cold and weren’t eaten! Next, when the food was put on the table two pieces of ribs fell off the plate onto the table and were not replaced. On the large platter which costs nearly £100, there was hardly any Doner, the rice and doner that was there was cold and the ribs had next to no meat on them! The bulgar tasted dry and old. I personally make better at home! When packing our leftovers for take away the waiter rudely came to take the plates before I had finished! The table was left dirty for a while whilst others were being attended to, when it was eventually wiped all the food remnants were wiped off the table onto our clothing!! No apologies were made and it happened more than once…. So very disappointing!! I refused to pay the service charge considering the experience and then it was loudly spoken about in Turkish with other members of staff… completely unprofessional! Couldn’t wait to get out of there to be honest!! As a family we were looking forwards to reminisce and have a proper Turkish meal! Unfortunately both the service and food was not up to par considering the price charged. What an...

We dine out normally at Antepliler or Gökyüzü which are the next door to Diyarbakır kitchen. We wanted to give a go at Diyarbakır kitchen today.

We were welcomed by the waiter and got seated at a table little down the entrance hall next to the governers management post. Our table was placed in a rather enclosed and small box like with mirrors all around the walls which looked to me a bit depresssing.

The spoons and knives on the table looked like very much worn out and too heavy to handle as if from a set of cutlery from 2nd World War.

Wife and son had ordered mixed doner and I ordered lentil soup and adana and lamp mix. They were all served with pide bread, small salad and pickles. No one were impressed by the quality of the food. the lamb kebeb appeared to be grilled well and juicy but in the mouth they were chewy and not easy to swallow, perhaps the cut of the meat weren't good enough or something else...but didn't enjoy it.

The Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine in Green Lane N4 is consider to be flag ship of Turkish cuisine in London and the UK we hope they all improve their image and live up to their reputation around the World.

Do we also get charged service charge on the takeaway...

We visited this place on 26th Aug 2024 after recommendation by a professional chef but unfortunately only realised later that this was the wrong one despite them having the EXACT same name on the outside but found out they trade as Diyarbakir Kitchen online and Google maps. Whilst the mezzes and meat were fresh, the food lacked flavour. For the high cost of what they charge for the basic main course dishes (£22-31) in an area that's culturally focusing on traditional Turkish food, I think lack of flavour shouldn't be a concern! I would've have left it at that but the reason I felt I needed to leave this review was due to the mediaocre customer service we got and being charged service charge! For a restaurant that has almost a dozen table staff, we had to ask 3 times each time for every bit of service or asking us how the food is!! Not too mention the miserable lack luster dimeanor they talk to you. I wouldn't say they were rude just unfriendly and unhelpful. Whilst we're probably quite patient customers compared to most, paying such high prices for the food and the lack of service, left a very bad taste in our mouths!! My advice, save your money and try the other places on...

Authentic Halal Turkish food with many dish options. We were fasting as this was during ramadan and the restaurant catered accordingly by giving us dates to open fast and bringing out our starters ready for opening and then bringin the main meals once fast had opened hot & fresh. Service all round was excellent, always attentive and helpful. We ordered Lahmachun and Donor Hummus as starters which were amazing! The donor meat was little dry and hard but tasted great. For mains we had chicken & lamb shish with adana mince meat kebabs with side of rice. Atmosphere was nice and not too loud. Family friendly as many kids around. Complimentary bread with tahini in start and turkish tea after your meal was great too. As others have mentioned there is a service charge but its just like any other restaurant that charge for their service which was excellent here so the £5-£6 paid is not too bad. Im sure one can always ask it to be removed. I was perfectly happy with this. Pricing for food i would say is a little expensive considering all but worth the odd occasions. Definitely worth a visit!

Me and my family went to this Turkish restaurant on Christmas Day. I called to make a reservation, however they told me that weren’t taking any bookings that day which was understandable. It was literally full when we had arrived around 7 pm. We waited for around 15 minutes by the seats near the entrance before we had a table which wasn’t bad at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in up until we left. The decoration, the feel, the service and the cleanliness, everything was perfect. Most importantly; the food is delicious! In fact, I cannot compliment the food enough! It was incredibly tasty! The starters were served within 10 minutes (Meze’s) and the food followed. I loved their Kunefe (dessert) and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys trying new desserts. Free parking is available on side roads and you can pay and display on the main road. On Sundays and bank holidays, parking is not an issue. They have toilets; the cubicles are small but clean. Would highly recommend this restaurant! I will definitely be returning.
