I came here for my 25th birthday with 12 friends and we had a great time. It was a tasty introduction to Kurdish food! The restaurant has a laidback neighbourhood vibe, suitable for intimate dining. We really appreciated the service and how fast the food came out.
However, I believe the Nandine could be more responsive on their emails. I emailed weeks ago (twice) and didn’t receive a response until 3 days before the meal. Luckily, I called so the booking was secure, but if customers are directed to email then this should be checked frequently.
Also, there should be greater clarity as to which dishes each branch serves. I was under the, mistaken, belief that kebabs/large plates were offered at the Vestry road branch. I don’t think this is made very clear on Nandine’s website/social media and I don’t think it should be that hard to find this information out. I would have chosen a different branch had I known, and this was information I requested via email which wasn’t responded to.
Nevertheless, these are minor points which I think can easily rectified. Overall, we had a great time, I just think the admin/marketing could...
Read moreDelicious food, very reasonably priced, excellent friendly service, very pleasant ambience and BYO as well - not a box left unticked! Highly recommended.
14/4/23 Unfortunately I have to add to this a somewhat disappointing caveat: when we first visited this establishment we took our own wine and were not charged corkage. On our last visit we were told that everyone drinking BYO wine would be charged £5, so the two out of four of us who were drinking had to pay £10 (more than the wine cost!) for the privilege of drinking our own wine. If all four of us had shared the bottle we would have had to pay £20 to share an £8 bottle of wine. This is clearly ludicrous, especially as we spent £65 on food and other drinks. The restaurant really should rethink this policy, which is clearly profiteering and spoils a really excellent dining experience. I emailed the restaurant to ask them if they thought this policy was justified but they have chosen...
Read moreVery quiet, soft lit slate grey cafe restaurant. To the food, it was extremely well presented, looked colourful and appetising. I ordered the soup and mezze. Surprised to be served my soup (lentil) at same time the main, and it was unfortunately not properly heated through, so asked for it to be reheated. Mezze was full of flavour which was great, but didn't taste or appear freshly made. It was all quite luke warm. Surprised as this was 12noon, so not late in the lunch service. Mezze was of course interrupted again by the return of soup. Very hard to catch the attention of the staff. Only one other couple on the place, so staff weren't naturally floating around, frustrating when needing attention. Prices are good, and I just wish quality of service and freshness matched the flavours and presentation. I really want to rate this higher and hope my next visit...
