We arrived at Tapete after booking in anticipation of their delicious looking menu. When we arrived, we were given the "one minute finger" by the man inside although we both greeted him hello and there was just one other table of guests in the entire restaurant.

Eventually we were waved to a table outside with which we were happy. We sat down and menus were shoved under our noses by the host who seemed increasingly irritable. We had a question regarding the paella so tried to grab the host's attention. He made eye contact but gestured "not now" with his hand as he walked past us to go inside. At this point our mouths fells open in shock at the blatant rudeness. We took this to mean, however, that he was busy preparing drinks or something however this was not the case. When he returned he went not to our table but to the other group to see if there was anything he could get them and was all smiles.

At this point we realised that it must have been something personal about our party - the other table consisting of a white family. After discussing and still failing to get his attention for service, we stood up to leave. Even though we were confused and upset by our treatment, we let the host know that we would be leaving. He could not have seemed less interested and shrugged his shoulders before turning away.

Truly horrendous service with pretty upsetting and...

Main problems are poor food quality, untrained staff and waiting times.

Our list of issues were: a glass of white wine was bought out instead of red wine, when we politely mentioned the mistake the waitress said ‘but I’ll have to waste that glass of wine’, which seemed a strange response to her making a mistake. Both of our glasses were grubby. All of our dishes took 55 minutes to come out from ordering. We ordered 1 starter and 4 tapas dishes and there was only 1 other table occupied. The red wine was spoiled and warm. The waitress didn’t know what corked meant. The 2 tapas dishes that were fried came swimming in oil, when I pointed this out (politely) the reply from the kitchen was ‘it’s a fried product and that’s how it comes’. I’ve tried these dishes before and it’s not. Also the olives were tasteless and very cold with huge chunks of (tinned?) mushrooms in. The waitress bought out chicken skewers and rice, when we reminded her that we ordered only from the vegetarian menu and it was supposed to be a chickpea stew, she said ‘you can eat the rice, that’s vegetarian’.

They took off the cost of 2 of the dishes which bought the total down to £45. I still feel we paid too much. I wouldn’t recommend...

No 1 place for Tapas and Breakfast. I had the best prawns ever, accompanied by Pat's Bravis, a Salad, bread and 2 glasses of wine. I was driving Solo and the portions were generous. This also applies to breakfast . The full English Breakfast which included 2 perfectly cooked fried eggs, 2 sausages, Mushrooms, tomato, baked beans and to too it off, homemade hash browns! There is a veggie and vegan option as well, avocado and perfect scrambled egg on toast or tofu. The quality of food and the presentation is five star. The owner Kishan, is a qualified chef having worked in the top hotels in London, this comes through in his food and customer service. This is a new enterprise for him and his wife. They are lovely people. The only reason I dropped a star was that it was very quiet, and they deserve more customers. i wish them every success in thier new venture, and I...

This was without a doubt the worst Spanish food I have ever had the displeasure of eating. To add injury to insult it wasn’t even cheap. Avoid this hell hole at all costs! Arroz brut served with basmati rice. Prawns where served at a temperature hotter than the temperature of a nuclear reactor. The croquetas were circular which I have never seen before in my life. The only saving grace with the wine was drinkable!

We phoned to book a table for 3pm on Sunday, walked 40mins to the restaurant and when we arrived it was closed. The sign at the door said "open" but the door was locked, lights off, no one inside, and the chairs inside were on top on the tables. I phoned them again and they asked us to wait saying someone would come and open the door but no one did. So we had to find an alternative place to eat... felt scammed
