Nando's Clapham - Northcote Road — Restaurant in London

Well we know Nandos and the food, and when finally received it was up to spec as usual, but was first time at this particular branch.

Wait time to order was overlong considering there were just a handful of customers, but ordering when finally getting to till was painless enough. Unexpected at 4 in the (quiet) afternoon, but bearable.

What's not bearable is queuing up for 10 minutes to order a second beer, eyeing up my tables food getting entirely ignored by the less than average waiter. Having eventually managed to part with another £3.95 for a bottle, attempting to wrest the food away to my table personally was fruitless. With my table waiter replying to the more than helpful kitchen staff that yes, he was indeed on a break whilst standing in the main doorway, and thus unable to chaperone the items on their way, I followed directions back to my table to continue the wait, with the relaxing sounds of both my empty belly and 70 decibels of dying frozen yogurt machine for company.

At last...food!

One last note to serving staff...if an incorrect side order is served with an already tardy meal, it's perhaps not actually ok to ask the customer to pick their main order up, and hold onto it until you return with a plate supporting the correct side order... good service would possibly dictate you'd leave it (considering another same side already sat on our table...we were not actually trying to ponce 1 small portion of chips off you mate).

Will I Nandos again? Absolutely. Would I return to Northcote road for one?...

Second time been in this Nando's and surely gonna be the last time! Visit was on mothers day Sunday for lunch with our tow kids and another family members all in five people, person welcome us allocated our seats and we settle in getting kids seated and our son in highchair, 10 minutes in ask us to move because manager wasn't happy where our son highchair was, keep in mind Thy ask us to sit there, we say ok let's do it! Go downstairs to order waiting for 5 to 7 minutes and no Hi, just give us a minutes, sorry for keep you waiting, i ask them can i order the ladie name Marcy start taking order, I have to say was the most unprofessional customerservices person I seen, when I was ordering for 5 people it not gonna be smooth like doing just my order, and one point she throw something was on her had to side of the till I had expression I was taking too long, and finally order arrived 15minutes then we realised that's not what I have order for my wife, we ask her can we please chang this to the chicken wrap I orders for her and she went and got Marcy and she was very rude infrount of our kids say that's what u order and I told her order butterfly chicken wrap and her respond was we don't do that, so if you don't do it why don't you say it to me when I order? She took it back and send a chicken wrap, I was feeling really shames to taken my wife and kids enjoy mothers day lunch as family. As a retail store manager I will really look in to train some of staff to make there visit much more enjoyable...

I absolutely hate giving reviews like this, it's very rare I even give a negative review, as I work in hospitality.

Waited a total of 30 minutes for some chicken thighs, chips and mash. Saw my chicken box ready after 10 minutes and it sat there waiting for the sides for a further 20 minutes. Whilst I watched two of the staff sit down on stools behind the counter to the point at which one if the staff on the floor had to say to them about doing some work. My food wasn't the only waiting for a while as it seemed the other two staff were happy to let this member do all the floor work until then. I finally asked about my food, which they said waiting for the sides on. The guy then went to give me my food (the wrong order), I said is it this one he said no. He then asked about it and was ten told 2 minutes for the mash. So finally after 30 minutes I got my order, whilst my chicken box which I knew was mine had sat there for 20 minutes.

Now like I said I don't normally do this, but this isn't the 1st time or even the 2nd at this particular branch and the fact my food was sitting there for so long whilst staff were being told to do some work instead of sitting down behind the counter by a colleague who was not even a manager it seemed, speaks volumes to be honest. My food wasn't the only one sitting there for a while it seemed either from my view of the hot plate. Won't be coming back to this...
