Dear Mike,

I am writing to you regarding an incident that occurred on 8/05/2024, during which I consumed food from Nando's via a delivery facilitated by Deliveroo. Regrettably, shortly after consuming the meal, I experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning. As a loyal patron of Nando's, I am deeply concerned about the quality and safety of the food provided by your establishment that occassion.

Furthermore, I believe that Nando's owes a duty of care to its customers, as established in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson (1932). This landmark case exemplifies the principle that a duty of care is owed to consumers to ensure that products, including food, are safe for consumption.

Despite the delivery being facilitated by Deliveroo, it is my understanding that Nando's maintains responsibility for the quality and safety of the food served under its brand name.

Therefore, I was disappointed by the response received from your team, particularly when you advised me to obtain a GP letter. As a customer lodging a complaint, I expected a more empathetic and proactive approach to addressing my concerns.

In accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I expect Nando's to fulfill its obligations to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers.

I kindly request that Nando's takes appropriate action to investigate this matter thoroughly and implement measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

This Nando’s is great! The staff are always very friendly and have cheerful smiles, which is nice to see. It’s a good-sized space with well-spaced tables, making it feel comfortable and relaxed. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of both Finsbury Park Station and Crouch Hill Station. The toilets are on the lower ground floor.

For those who haven’t been to Nando’s before, you’re given a table number and can either scan the QR code to order or place your order at the till. There’s a self-service area where you can grab your cutlery, sauces, and wash your hands — I wish more places had this, as it’s great for hygiene. There’s also a water and ice machine, which is super handy.

The last time I went, I ordered the extra hot chicken thighs and chicken wings. The thighs were succulent and full of flavour, and the wings were really nice too — I just wish they were slightly bigger! Hopefully, they’ll introduce large double-jointed wings at some point. Nevertheless, everything tasted great.

The vibe is lovely, with upbeat Latin-style music and Spanish songs that create a fun and lively atmosphere. The seats are comfortable, and it’s a great spot for kids too — the children’s menu is reasonably priced and offers good variety.

We found hair in two dishes. The first time the team member apologised and asked if we would like it to be replaced. The second time she called the manager without even engaging with us. The manager- Ravi- came over with a defensive attitude he did not apologise he asked what we would like him to do...?

We settled on him changing the plate and a free desert. He stressed that the person cooking was wearing a head net and didn't make any attempt to look into why there was hair in the food. When I told him I was going to make a complaint he said 'that's fine'. My experience was ruined seeing hair in the plates of the others I was dining with completely put me off my own food and I did not eat my veggie pitta because of this.

The staff were more interested in chatting to each other than attending to the staff. No one came over and asked us if everything is okay as is the usual system at nandos.

It is clear why the staff weren't bothered the manager wasn't bothered, he made it clear we were not valued customers and would only do the bare minimum. He acted as if him being called over was an inconvenience to him. Very unimpressed by Ravi and his hairy...
