Nefis Ocakbasi — Restaurant in London

My spouse and I dined at Nefis Ocakbasi today during a relatively quiet period. We placed an order for a variety of starters, three main courses (including a lamb shank to share and lamb ribs), and a side of chips alongside our beverages. The starters arrived promptly and were of high quality, setting a positive tone for the meal.

However, despite being informed that the lamb shank would require approximately 20 minutes, it arrived slightly later than expected, around the 25-minute mark. Regrettably, the remaining main courses were not served alongside it, leading to a disjointed dining experience. Subsequently, the other main dishes arrived approximately 20 minutes after we had finished the lamb shank, further detracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, the portion of chips we ordered never materialised, which was disappointing.

While the food itself was enjoyable, we found the service and coordination lacking. Given the restaurant's relatively low occupancy, with only five tables occupied during our visit, we had anticipated smoother execution. We went with my boyfriend for a date and we were pleasantly impressed by the quality of the food(it was just amazing), professional staff and nice atmosphere. We ordered chicken soup and it was ok, meat and cheese pide which is very nice and crispy; two main meals mix shisha and lamb chop, both were delicious and the meat was veeeery juicy, chips were perfectly cooked(crispy outside and super soft inside). For dessert we decided to try Künefe and katma, we liked it very much. The girl who served us (the one with glasses) I’m sorry we didn’t ask her name, she was just lovely, she brought everything very quickly, was smiling all the time, service was on a very high level. I’m sorry we didn’t have cash for tips and didn’t realise on time to include it on the bill. We satisfied with everything for 100%, thanks god we live nearby and we can come to this place more often. This place is amazing. My family - the adults and the kids - all think it’s better than any other places around here. Superb value for money and great quality of food with top notch customer service, the owner (I assume so as he’s always in there on his own) is a very nice bloke, always helpful and accommodating, pleasure to help support his business.

You can tell the owner cares about what’s he’s doing, the food is consistent - always super fresh, meat cooked to tender perfection, the chips are the best I’ve had anywhere - super crispy but light and fluffy inside - and the salads are crisp and fresh

He also goes to the added lengths of doing things like his own sauces, sides, fillings which adds a good touch.

It’s all made even better with the generous portions for very reasonable prices, over all we all had nice time , nice meal and nice Turkish vine.....
