I went to the pub The Mount today for breakfast today. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the breakfast served. First of all, we waited for more than 1 hour for the food to be served. It was around noon and it was not busy at all. Four other people were waiting for their to be served. I think they have waited for more than 1 hour just like us. One of my friends had chosen the usual English breakfast with bacon. The bacon was smelling of charcoal. They have not even asked if we wanted our eggs to be well done or runny. My boyfriend and I had opted to not have bacon and sausage. We chose to have 2 eggs and mushroom instead. We were upset as we received a very small portion of baked beans and 2 tiny bread with halloumi. There was supposed to be hash brown but instead we got halloumi. The person serving us has not even told us that there was no hash brown. Overall, we waited for more than 1 hour with foods that we were not happy with. However, we informed the person that we did not like the food. In the end, he gave us a discount and did apologised for the time we waited to have our food. We had to order some more food elsewhere as we were still hungry. The pub looks nice but ordering food there is a nightmare and not at...
Read moreI recently dined at The Mount in Chingford with a friend on a Saturday, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. We were greeted by Ashley, whose bubbly and welcoming energy set a positive tone for our visit. Her deep knowledge of the menu and excellent recommendations made our meal all the more enjoyable.
I opted for the Mixed Meat roast, which included jerk chicken and a succulent lamb roast. The meats were cooked to perfection, with the lamb and jerk pork particularly standing out for its tender, slow-cooked quality. The flavours were rich and satisfying, making every bite a delight.
Additionally, I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. It was perfectly seasoned, delicious, and had a wonderful texture that complemented the meal beautifully. The drinks were reasonably priced, which added to the overall value of our dining experience and purchased a bottle of Prosecco for under £20.
Ashley consistently checked in with us, delivering excellent customer service throughout our visit. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our time at The Mount.
I highly recommend The Mount for its superb food, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional service. It's definitely a place I'll be...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with this pub and the treatment me and son received. My 3 year old needed the toilet whilst we was in there as a paying customer (yes we was sitting outside as the football was on) and to my amazement we was told he was not allowed to use the ladies toilet by a member of staff who run frantically toward us as we was entering the toilet. I couldn't believe my ear and couldn't believe as a paying customer my young 3 year old was denied access to what I thought was facilties for the customer!! I will never be eating at this place again and wouldn't recommend anyone with children to do so just incase they need the toilet. They should be ashamed of...
