I ate here with my boyfriend on a Monday evening. We walked in with no reservation and were seated immediately. There were 2 waitors working in this small venue, but we didn't even get menus for 20 minutes! To be fair to them, the reason that we couldn't get their attention to ask for the menus is because even though it's a small venue, they were constantly running around doing something. It's not a problem of bad staff - the staff were lovely and very hard working. Just maybe they need another member of staff? I imagine it's even worse on weekends! Other customers were also visibly waiting to order/recieve food/pay for long amounts of time.
The food: I got the ham and mushroom pizza, and it was nice. Not the best I've had, but I prefer sourdough pizza (which this is not) so if you like regular base pizza, it's good. My boyfriend got the Napolitana and had no complaints. In summary: good pizza. Very tasty.
My biggest complaint is that we got a bottle of Malbec and it was just bad. It tasted sour. It was so hard to get the attention of the busy waitors that we just drank it anyway, but if really was a bad bottle.
In conclusion: if you don't mind a wait, I recommend this place for pizza, but...
Read moreBooked in advance for a 6:30pm reservation for 3 people, we needed to make changes to start earlier at 6pm which they happily did via email.
I arrived at the restaurant in time for the booking and was welcomed and sat down at a table, my friends arrived soon after at which point we ordered some drinks. Peronis of course! Bit steep for almost £8 but that's London for you.
We ordered a few starters, some bruschetta, olives and calamari, all of which were delicious. We then went onto the mains which for me was the Nenno pizza. It was an exceptional pizza, a thin and crispy base with a perfectly balanced load of toppings. No extra seasonings needed as the crusts were delicious and the everything else was perfectly satisfying. The food orders came out quick and they let us finish the starters before bringing out the mains, something often overlooked in some establishments. Our water jug was regularly filled without us prompting the waiting staff.
All in all a great experience and a place I'd recommend if you'd like good pizza. Can't vouch for the other menu items but one of my party had pasta and said it was tasty so I suspect you wouldn't go wrong ordering something else that...
Read moreExcellent place. Good pizza -- which means good crust, cheese, toppings and baking. Atmosphere fine.
Two small nits: First, I ordered the "quattro stagioni" pizza, which in Italy would have been a pizza with four sections, each with different toppings. Here, they put all the toppings together to make a simple four topping pizza. The staff appeared to be Italian, so I suspect that they knew and were tired of customers complaining when they got what they ordered. :)
Second (and the reason they are getting four stars from me instead of five), a couple came in after me and asked to sit outside. A 2-top and a 4-top were available. They asked for the 4-top and were seated at the 2-top because the 4-top was said to be reserved.
Shortly thereafter, another couple came in looking for an outside table. The 4-top was split in two and they were given half of it. So it apparently had not been reserved after all.
The right thing to do, of course, is to ask the first couple simply to take the 2-top to allow for flexibility if a party of 4 comes in. Lying to them is not a...
