I recently attended a reggae night at Club The Night Owl located near Finsbury Park Station, it is every 1st Sunday of the month and while the vibes and music were absolutely fantastic, the people very diverse and the music was the best slow reggae i have heard since my grandad past away.
I cannot help but express my disappointment with the overall experience, largely due to the staff and the cleanliness of the venue.
Let's start with the good: the reggae night at this club was truly peaceful and filled with amazing music that set a fantastic atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. However, my enjoyment was significantly spoiled by the extremely rude behaviour of some of the staff members.
While there was one friendly lady who was genuinely helpful, the same cannot be said for the two men behind the bar. Their dismissive and disrespectful treatment to both women and men was shocking and completely unwarranted.
The state of the tables was appalling. I didn't even bother taking a picture because it was clear that no one had bothered to clean them from 6pm i was there until 10pm the tables looked the same and pilled with more cups and food. There were over 20 cups piled up, It's disheartening to think that this may have been due to the demographics of the event, as it felt like a lack of respect for the reggae music community.
What truly pushed me to write this review was the early closure of the bar at 9:30 PM, even though the event was scheduled to continue until 10 PM. I am a grown adult and should have the freedom to purchase a drink at 9.30pm. This left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with the staff's disregard for the customers and the business needing the money also.
While Club The Night Owl may offer fantastic reggae nights with amazing vibes and music, the overall experience was marred by the rude staff, unclean tables, and an early bar closure. It's my hope that the management addresses these issues promptly to provide a more enjoyable and inclusive...
Read moreIF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE - AVOID!!!! We came to the club and bought drinks and sat down on the empty seata and some drunken guys came up to us and told us to get up and go as they seat there now. I asked politely if they paid for the table and if the table is reserved for them - they said no. And they were making problem and trying to throw us away. I went straight to the stuff and asked if those seats are reserved ir if anyone can seat there - they confirmed its for everyone. The security didnt want to do literally anything. The security told us it shouldnt be happening but to give up as they are not going to do anything. The security is useless there and place very very bad and allows all drunken people to do whatever they want. I have never had any situation like that in any nightclub and seen such such bad security. The place is tiny and the security who supposed to actually work there is useless. They do not provide help. Dont go there if you want to be safe and have a good evening. They do not protect anyone, everything can happen in this club. Any people can come, nor pay for the table, get drunk and forbid all of the club to sit in the common area and both security guards did nothing. AVOID LIKE A FIRE. NOT...
Read moreNice friendly staff, good vibe and decor. Sound system was pretty decent and clear. Nice crowd, at least before 12. 00 when a few oafs turned up. Very easy to get to by train, bus or Tube - local free parking after 6. Loads of places to eat or preload with cheaper beer. Which brings me to: Downsides - I struggled to find a beer I liked.
And as a performer...
Geek alert - only relevant if you're into live music!
We waited ages to sound-check... Nice sound guy and he did a good job out front, but the set up took so long (2 hours) we only got 5min to set levels (no exaggeration - and we got there at the appointed time). Had to perform without the monitor levels set
The plus side of playing there? Free beer and a green room with shower!! So rare. Made up for the glacial...
