We had a party here for my wifes 60th. The night could not have gone better. Darlene who looked after us from our initial converstation through to the event on the night could not have done more for us. On arrival she asked if we wanted some presecco for the table. There were about 20 of us there for the party, so I said yes maybe a couple of bottles, assuming that I was buying these. But Darlene would not let me pay for these as it was her way of helping us celebrate the night.. To be clear we did not have the whole pub and never intended to. The pub was open to the public, we just had a table by the DJ at the front of the dance floor. The pub is a very lively place once it gets started. It was super busy but I have never been in a pub where the bar staff are so on top of things. Getting served, even though it was really busy, was never an issue and we were not getting specialy treatment. I was watching the staff at one point and they did not stop! Bar staff 20 out of 10, if you are reading this you are rockstars! The night went well and we all felt very safe. Finsbury park is not the greatest of areas but Darlene and her staff take security and safety very seriously. The security guys were 100% paying attention and you felt looked after. I 100% hand on heart recconded the Blackstock for a secial drink or a good night out, regardless of age. Our crowd ranged from early 20's to me at the top end 65... We loved it.. The crowd there was a mixed bag of ages all just wanting to have fun, no agro! To the Blackstock team, thank you soo much we will see you again in the...

We went there on Friday & the security guy at the entrance was extremely rude. Obviously there was a misunderstanding at some point as we had a reservation as we said the name of the friend that we thought booked the table, but the reservation was made by someone else and we didn't know the name. I tried to have a conversation with the Security guy but he even tried to listen to me. I can get but sometimes being a security guy can be frustrating but he cannot be disrespectful with no reason. We were super confused but our friend came out & we got in. And just to be clear, I wasn't drunk at all (as I am 5 months pregnant). we were polite with the guy but at some point he was even teasing us using the name of the guy that we said in the door. Later, another security guy arrived & the treat to other was adequate.

Editing my review: OMG, I can't believe all the lies in the comment from the place. Thank God more people is highlighting how rude your security guy is in several comments. I think your reply just clarify that the owner of the place is as rude as the security guy. I am still astonished that you were able to elaborate such a lie. As the excuse of being "intoxicated" cannot work here... We saw our friend (the one that was celebrating his Bday & the only name that we mentioned - also the name that the security guy used to laugh at us-) because he went to order some drinks, just in front of the door... Not because anyone offer any...

You couldn't really imagine that this corner of Seven Sisters Road and Blackstock Road would have anything much to offer, but you'd be wrong. This pub has an excellent vibe, far removed from what you'd imagine. It doesn't try too hard, because it doesn't have to. Seating inside is carefully curated, if that's a word that's appropriate. And there are some tables outside (which are brilliant, to be fair, for watching the maniacs coming down from Stroud Green, and all the randoms of Finsbury Park itself) but inside is great, too. Staff are attentive and on the ball. The (£21) bottle of house wine was decent enough (and the glasses were amazing!). We had a couple of bottles, and the atmosphere got better as we moved on from glass to glass. Was it only the alcohol? I don't think so, the sing-along and the staff genuinely looking like they enjoyed themselves helped! The playlist was brilliant, too!

The toilets are clean enough (though a lock on the gents' cubicle wouldn't go amiss!) and the SIA guys on the door seem to have their head screwed on right, which I think is important where this place is.

Do they cater for a particular clientele? Yes, absolutely, but ... I've been before, several times, and I'll come again: this is a brilliant pub in the heart of...

The last time I went to this place I nearly got beaten up from cheering the wrong team. Lucky for me, me team lost so I survived the day. That was 20 years ago, my friends still laugh about it and I've never set a foot there again. That was until a couple of weeks ago as everthing else was closed and this place was open until 2am. omg the place has changed. I'm not a fan of pub bouncers but they were actually really friendly and funny. the interior has been completely redone and done with good taste. the beer selection is great. the customers are quite young but maybe that's become I'm quite old now. they had a fairly OK dj playing some good tunes and some people were dancing. there were some weirdos, like a 20 yo dressed in suit seating by himself lurking at others but that's what you get from opening late during midday and I think it is great to have this place the way it is. everybody was quite friendly and it's a place I will now consider going. my old friends don't believe I went back there and I hardly believe it too. that's the way things goes... everything changes eventually. for this pub, it's for the better. the old unfriendly local from 20 years ago will have to drink somewhere else if they are still alive.

The greatest pub in the greatest city for the greatest team the world has ever seen. Never come across a more versatile pub catered for all audiences, whether that’s to enjoy a quiet pint and watch the world go by in Finsbury Park, singing non stop Arsenal songs after yet another famous win or dancing the night away to resident DJ: DJ Tommy 🔥 - he knows how to please any crowd. Always great vibes, amazing staff who want to serve you quickly despite huge crowds and a real party atmosphere. I tell everyone to come here, if you’re reading this that includes you 👀🫵
