First time eating here, so, I thought to get the spicy chicken melt. I've never heard of this type of melt before, let alone having one, but, being in May, the force was strong. I also ordered a hot chocolate.
My daughter had egg and sausage bagel, no drink.
Both meals together with the hot chocolate came to about £13. Not bad for within the boundary of the City of London.
The bagel melt had a surprising taste, which wasn't in itself a bad thing. Quite cheesy as one would expect, but did not tittilate my taste buds as I had hoped it would do.
As a diabetic, I found it to be too salt but that may have been due to the cheese.
I could not taste the spice, and I like to feel a bit of heat when a request something spicy. A bit too much sauce, so, the chicken did not want to be restrained by the bread and tried to escape, but failed miserably...lol.
The hot chocolate was quite good.
I give my meal a 5.5/10 (bordering a 6), but I'm not very easy to please when it comes to food. I'm kinda pernickety.
My daughter on the other hand was all smiles. She simply gave hers an 8/10, obviously, room for improvement.
Overall average of 6.25/10 so not bad.
As we were leaving, a host of new customers were arriving. Either we were good advertising (seated outside) or they were regular patrons. In the words of Don Lemmon...
Read moreWhen I moved to London, my wife introduced me to this place after recommending it for a quick and easy breakfast. This place is one of the reasons why I love her. The owner is one of the nicest people I have met in london, so I kept on going back again and again. I don't even need to say anything when I enter anymore, he has my order already cooking the moment he sees my face. The bacon bagel (with just a little bit of ketchup) is just pure food heaven. 5 stars isn't enough, I simply cannot recommend this place highly enough. If I was forced to eat here every day for the rest of my life, I would die...
Read moreMainly a takeaway along busy City fringe Goswell Road. Seats for say 10 or so and a couple of tables outside (when not in lockdown). As the label on the tin says, it does mainly bagels, and very good they are too - the salt beef is the best I have tasted. Many fillings, the usual, plus savoury, sweet or spicy. They also do wraps; the kofte wrap is very good. Good coffee too, the proprietor is friendly...
