Whitecross Market — Local services in London

What a lovely experience it was to try various cuisine on the Whitecross market. I would give 5 stars, but the issue my colleagues had that not all stalls accepted credit card or any more modern form of payment. It must have been cash.

I felt when a request for a bit more meat come in the price was hiked by 150% which I found disproportionate as the person didn’t receive a proportionate increase of the meat portion.

Another drawback is queuing - food should be served faster. I can imagine people are working really hard to deliver but again, one queue was just extraordinarily long and it took 15-20min to get food. That’s not ideal during a working week to go for a work lunch / meal.

Moreover, only cutlery we got was a fork. We had large meat chunks and it was hard to eat with a fork only. Something to think about and optimise.

Overall happy but more suitable for tourists...

This is the best Street food market in London with so many different choices of food from different countries. The market is really busy at lunch times as people who come to work in the local buildings always come to the market to grab their lunch as the variety is endless and you can have a different menu each day which does not bore the taste budds but excites the even more. I truly recommend this place you go to as this is one of my favourite places to visit whenever I'm in Whitecross Street. One of my favourite places to eat is the Turkish food and the Indian foods as they are really filling and very unique in taste as it is homemade and very fresh ingredients. The market is always buzzing and full of life with sweet aromas in the air and the people are always nice as well and the lines do get long so make sure to come early so you do not have to wait in...

Amazing place to get a delicious inexpensive and filling lunch. Whatever your dietary restrictions you'd likely find something to eat - Vegan, vegetarian, halal, vegan, gluten free.

I had a halal chicken biryani with a spicy curry and chicken Tikka for £7 and it was delicious. Got it from Barbican Express - service was fast and the server was helpful in helping me decide what to get despite a busy queue.

Got a big red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting from Cheeky Cakes for £4 - the cake wasn't great though. It was dry and sugary and the frosting had more sugar than cream cheese.
