29/12 Sinatra event absolutely fabulous BUT Barbican Facilities r Horrible... We booked tix @ Stalls & spend quite a lot of money there 2night... Floor - 1 = stalls = gr8 seats = Dissable wc Only 1x was working?!... Ladies wc very long line Before, interval & after!!!... Even 20min 4 br8 didn't gave us enough time... they should really sort this out as its the same on every Single Floor = Dissable wc shall be all accesible = 2nd balcony out of order!!!
Barbican 18/12/22 Cincert was gr8 but facilities & parking absolutely horrible... It don't even deserve 1* if I am. Honest... 11/9/22 Very nice concert indeed. But We were on 1st floor & Dissable wc which we use got problem with the doors which was not moving & got stuck. We asked 4 assistance & staff released hinges & it was working again. There was water everywhere on the floor under sink & I asked 2 clean that up on the start of the concert. In the interval floor was still wet!!! & another gentleman was using Diss. Wc while doors were left open = he could not closed it again, but he need 2go & probably gave up poor thing... We asked again staff 4 assistance but they replied that the doors are simply broken = no sign anywhere... He advised us 2 go 2floors down?!?!?! We r using Dissable wc & can't make this journey!!! = especially in the interval! After the concert it was the worst as NONE OF THE WC ON 1ST FLOOR WERE WORKING!!! there was line of the not very happy ppl which were told 2 go 2floors down again?!?! Not very nice way of Barbican staff sorting = in fact not sorting this out... this shall be looked after & checked on regular basis = especially over the weekend when it's soo busy = it was Sun night = Pls see photo of the hinges on the floor...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting the Barbican Centre, and it was an incredible experience. Located in the heart of London, the Barbican is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a cultural hub offering a diverse range of artistic experiences.Upon entering the Barbican, I was immediately struck by its unique Brutalist architecture. The centre’s distinctive design is bold and impressive, with concrete walkways and modernist elements that create an almost futuristic atmosphere. While the architecture may not be to everyone’s taste, it’s certainly striking and adds to the centre's charm. The art exhibitions I explored were absolutely fantastic. The gallery spaces are spacious, well-lit, and perfectly suited to showcase a variety of works, from contemporary art to historical pieces. I had the chance to see [mention a specific exhibition you saw, e.g., "a photography exhibition on the theme of urban transformation"], and I was thoroughly impressed by the depth and creativity of the pieces on display. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, and the information provided helps to deepen your understanding and appreciation of the works. In addition to art, the Barbican is known for its wide range of performing arts, including theatre, dance, and music. The concert hall is a particular highlight, offering excellent acoustics for performances. I attended a [mention any performance you saw, e.g., "classical music concert" or "jazz performance"], and the sound quality was exceptional. The seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was perfect for a night of live music. The cinema at the Barbican is also worth mentioning. It screens a diverse selection of films, including independent, foreign, and classic movies, often in a way that you won’t find in your typical cinema. I had the chance to catch a [mention a film or genre you watched, e.g., "foreign film" or "classic thriller"], and it was a great way to experience a unique film in a more...
Read moreThis is one of the worst places for accessibility. When you book, there is no information sent or available online. There are lots of slopes from one section to another which can be difficult in a wheelchair as they're at odd and harsh angles. Every single staff member was completely uninformed about everything and there's no visible information anywhere either so we were just confused going round in circles. In the main area there were four lifts and only one seemed to actually be working properly. We ate in the bonfire restaurant which was good, simple food but the service was quite slow and inattentive after you were seated. Also, having double doors but only one open also made life difficult. When it was time to go to the theatre, staff again were clueless and couldn't care less. It was a struggle to find where we were going. What they say is an exclusive toilet upstairs for those with disabilities, we honestly aren't able to review as the wheelchair would not even fit in the lift to go up. We found where we were sat and the box is an extremely small space for two wheelchairs and two companions - It would be impossible to get out until the other wheelchair moved - it's also worth noting that it wasn't possible to turn around and no one was around to help so we had to go out of the box backward which in turn accidentally hit someone with the door. Upon leaving we were trying to find our way but because the staff have no idea and there's no signage, we wandering around - the highlight were the two maintenance men and a young black woman with long hair which were the friendliest and most helpful but still didn't really know. The only thing that made the trip fully worthwhile was the performance. This is one of the worst theatres we've been to regarding accessibility and definitely would have to carefully consider whether it's worth the stress and hassle of...
