Palma Delicatessen — Restaurant in London

We've been coming to this restaurant for a long time and have always loved the food and the warm service from most of the staff. However, over the past few months, we’ve noticed ongoing tension between one younger waitress and the rest of the team — especially with an older colleague. They often argue in what sounds like Romanian, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Things came to a head on Friday, June 6th, when we witnessed the younger waitress aggressively grab another staff member right in front of customers and the manager. Shockingly, while the manager intervened, they seemed to side with the aggressor.

This place used to be owned by a lovely lady named Maria, and is likely the reason Palma has all the good reviews it does. However since going under new management, this shop has become riddled with insane prices and hidden charges. The other day I got charged extra for getting a toasted roll, which was always included in the price may i add, and the menu said its usual price of 4.95. nothing wrong right? well, i got charged an extra 2 pounds at the till for the roll and for it to be toasted. ABSURD work for a small café. I've never seen another shop do this and when they have, theyve stated clearly any changes to their menu/prices. these extra charges never existed and frankly hiding them until the checkout is plain scandalous. Won't be returning. imagine putting 2 pounds extra over your customer base?...

I’ve been going to Palma deli since Maria opened and service and food was excellent. My shop was opposite her deli and almost everyday went in there myself and with my clients and family too , my clients and all recommendations together must have spent a little fortune and supported Palma deli . Unfortunately the new owner cannot even smile and looks angry always . One day my friend arrived before me and ordered breakfast at exactly 12am and even said it was for Terry (the whole staff knows who I am ) the waitress refused . When I arrived the owner and the waitress still refused to serve .consequently we left .
