Avoid due to waitress.
A wonderful place for pizza by the slice, and has Gus gorgeous retro brown orange colour theme. But ruined by the miserable point of order waitress who was more focussed on her mobile phone and entitled attitude.
I had two slices of the Nona Margheritas and each one was perfect and finished off in their ovens with a super crisp and crunch crust. A great slice of pie so boom.
On the second occasion I asked for some jalapeños added to the slice - the young red headed waitress repeatedly refused to accommodate this as an impossiblity even though the menu states you can have extra toppings (admittedly for the whole pizza maybe not slice). So I asked if she could kindly ask the two chefs behind her if they could accommodate or not and no big deal if not. She argued back and flatly refused to ask them as she’s the ultimate decision maker and those are her rules so I politely asked them myself directly (they’re one meter behind her in the kitchen) and one of the chefs was so nice and said yes absolutely do you what a few Jalapenos whole or chopped and I said you decide and he chopped them.
This same “waitress” was then really rude and when she then delivered the pizza she basically threw it at me on my table and sulked off in arrogance.
If you don’t want to work in hospitality then don’t ruin a business or it’s reputation which probably makes minimal profit margins, and go find another job which suits your lazy arrogant entitled attitude.
Pizza great, chefs great, waitress arrogant and awful.
Ps we’d had a late lunch before in Osteria Angelica next door which was fabulous. Expensive and a 15% service charge but their service team earned every penny and more in service unlike the above arrogant...
Read moreI visited for lunch on a Thursday. Arriving at around 12pm it was fairly empty but it did get a bit busier shortly afterwards. They offer most of their pizzas by the slice, and even at 12pm they had a full set of 8 pizzas all sliced up and ready to go. I tried a slice of the White (mushroom) pizza followed by slice of Burrata pizza, plus a hot honey dip. The slices were taken from the counter and reheated before being served. This was some pretty solid pizza. The crust was firm and crispy - it passed the flop test - and the toppings were decent as well. The hot honey dip was ok for a short time but I was bored of it by the time I finished my second slice. The dip selection in general was not enticing.
While offering pizza by the slice naturally appeals to solo diners, I think the rest of the menu was designed for sharing - at least I assumed so based on prices (e.g. £9 for a Caesar salad).
My lunch cost me around £15 and I was reasonably full afterwards. Overall an enjoyable meal and I would recommend it, although Crisp W6 easily remains my favourite for NY style pizza in...
Read moreThis pizza spot is such a wonderful breath of fresh air. We went in to grab a couple slices because they serve by the slice…once we stepped in we were met with a super chilled out vibe and 90s hip hop blasting…the lady serving behind the counter was super helpful…and then the food - OMG…three of us went in and grabbed 2 slices each ranging from the cheese to the burrata and the deep dish one (don’t remember the name - Sicilian?)…the pizzas were so good we each went back for two more. We started arguing amongst ourselves about which one we liked best. Haha…The owner Ryan was inside working as well and came by to say hello often and even answered all our questions because we couldn’t believe how delicious every aspect of the pizzas were - the tomato sauce, the dough, the cheese used, etc…and he happily answered everything. Before we left he even treated us to the milk ice cream which is incredible!!!…one of the best experiences we’ve had in a London joint in...
