I am a big fan of Pho, I used to visit the one in Trinity Mall Leeds regularly. i'm a coeliac and 95% of their menu is gluten free. So as a brand I'm pretty happy with them. They food is good and filling and presented well. Unfortunately on my visit to Westfield White City the experience was significantly under par. I took a date there who had never had a Pho before, in fact hadn't even heard of them so I was keen to change that. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. There was no prawn cracker which was disappointing as they are nice to have with the curry, but OK not the end of the world. When our buzzer went off our food was waiting for us except my starter, (Chicken wings) I was told to take the mains and they would buzz me for the starter. So my date sat down with the house special and the spring rolls and i waited for my wings. And waited. And waited. 8 minutes went by with my curry and rice getting colder as it sat on the collection spot. The wings finally arrived. They were just deep friend wings. Even from frozen wings don't take 8 minutes to deep fry, let alone 17 minutes from when we first placed the order. Meaning not only did they forget the first time but after they realised what they had forgotten, they still didn't put them in. By the time I joined my date at a table the wings were red hot and the curry was getting cold the rice had already gone cold. He had nearly finished his food, so as a choice of random place to eat while out on a date do not choose Pho there's a very good chance they will mess it up or not have the food you are looking for. The staff on the till were friendly and engaging and from what I am told the house special broth was very nice so I guess you...
Read moreWe got here a little before 12pm (11:55) and asked a staff when they open, and they seem to either ignore us or immediate get annoyed of our question. When it was finally 12 we stood in front of the cash register to order, but all the staff gathered to one end of the stall and were having a team meeting or whatever. Ok, that's alright, do what you got to do. Now there is a line of people behind us and the manager comes out and starts ordering us to stand back so he can put up the queue barrier. And when I started to move towards the front of the line the managers started speaking in a patronizing way. Everyone in line seemed annoyed because the staff were almost either ignoring our presence and didnt seemed rushed to get our orders at all, even though they were so aggressive about "being open" at 12pm (by this time it was 12:10). I know it sounds nitpicky but the staff were kind of the worst. And when me and my friend recieved our orders, my friend got the wrong order, and my portion was less than half of hers. Even though we both ordered pho her noodle her portion was very generous, while my portion could be held by one chopstick lift.
Not only are the dishes a bit overpriced, the service and the food were just not great overall. The pho was simply too salty and not authentic in anyway. I never nitpick at a food court food or for restaurants, but this just ruined my whole mood and experience. It sucks that this restaurant will never run out of customers because of its aesthetics. I just really came to hate this restaurant. Burn in...
Read moreI have been here many times and usually it’s my go to out of all the places in the food court. However, the last time I had it, it wasn’t so good.
Thought it was a one off, so decided to come back. NO. It has gone downhill.
I ordered pork spring rolls and chicken pho. My order took 40 minutes!! (Tip: don’t ever order a starter if you’re in a hurry. Whenever I order chicken wings or spring rolls with my meal… my order ALWAYS takes a minimum 25 minutes, which is a joke! Even in a proper Viet restaurant, the starters NEVER take that long to dish).
When my food came, the spring rolls came out burnt and dry! The broth for the pho was bland, had no depth and was OVERLY salty, most likely laced with MSG! Supposed to be chicken breast, but all I got were a few strands of chicken. Literally no meat, all pho!! I have been here before many times like I said, but the last couple of times they really cut down on the meat.
Couldn’t be bothered to bring the food back because the girl at the counter was rude when I enquired about why my meal was taking so long.
Last straw for me… I’ll be dining at the other stalls when I’m in Westfield and I’ll satisfy my Viet cravings in Kingsland Road where you get authentic Vietnamese.
4 hours later and I’m still thirsty as hell because of how salty...
