My little boy (4yo) woke up on a bank holiday morning with a desperate need to have a baby Grogu minifigure. He had seen one at car boot sale a few days earlier but hadn't been able to get it having already spent his money and more on other toys. His birthday a couple of months away and money being a little short I was fully set on denying him any immediate satisfaction but he just couldn't let it go. His mother looked at eBay but the cost of the individual figure seemed to great and his desperation was palpable. He's a remarkably reasonable child and normally I would stick to my guns and make him wait and he would be fine after initial disappointment. But I felt his need was different on this occasion. So I struck a deal with him that if he counted up every penny he had in his piggy bank I would ask his granny if she would provide enough to get him the smallest set available that came with the Grogu figure... We got buses and trains from Ealing to find the applicable set in the Westfield store in Shepherds Bush. We found the set, took it home and he ripped it open to start building but to his and possibly more my dismay the set was missing Grogu's head. He handled this so much better than I did. I ripped apart the sitting room looking for it incase it had just pinged away in his exited opening but found nothing. Convinced that it had to be missing from the set in the first place I decided to head straight back to the store knowing that I would miss family dinner and probably his bedtime but my adrenaline was unreasonably high so I went straight back out to mission the situation and get an immediate replacement. As I showed the ripped open box to the young lady who had to deal with me I could tell that I was about to be told that it couldn't be replaced or refunded due to the condition of the box and rightly so... However this wonderful person asked me to wait a moment, went into the back rooms and after a few minutes she emerged with a manager. My heart sinking I thought again I was to be told no, nothing they could do but to my surprise and delight they went to a display cabinet and she returned to me the minifigure from their display piece. She couldn't replace the whole set but she gave me that minifigure and rescued my day entirely. I didn't catch her name but she is my hero and she made me my sons hero and so for that I'm incredibly grateful. As many stars as can be bestowed upon this person are more than due. My...

Read moreThe sales people at Lego stores are usually nice and eager to help, but for the first time the girl really understood what I was looking for, went in the back to see if they had some flat pieces that would work for me, and when she didn't find them she suggested their new-ish dots products that probably had enough pieces for what I needed. Also looking at nice Lego sets (I don't think they have any Lego installations like they do in Leicester Square), but they have several set built and in display around the store. Currently they have the cute Bonsai one (spring cherry tree with the pink flowers, and the green leaves scattered at the bottom) and the birds of paradise flowers,...
