Extremely Disappointing Experience

While the food itself was actually quite good, the service completely ruined our visit. I’m shocked by how we were treated and will not be returning.

After we sat down, Debra came over, took the cutlery from our table to give to another one, and said, “You don’t need these!”—in a very rude tone. That alone made me want to leave, but my husband enjoys your salad, so we stayed.

Unfortunately, we waited 36 minutes (from 13:29 to 14:05, according to our card transaction) for a simple salad, while three other tables—who arrived after us—were served before us. I asked Kasia politely about the salad, and instead of an explanation, the cook began shouting at us in front of all the customers for several minutes, even using inappropriate language. I didn’t say a word in response, especially since my son was present. That’s when I decided to write this review.

To clarify: Kasia was polite and professional, and this review does not reflect poorly on her. The issue lies entirely with the behavior of the cook and Debra. Debra has been rude before, and the cook seems to have a habit of being confrontational. Sadly, this wasn’t an isolated incident—it was just far worse than previous visits.

I’ve heard similar stories from other locals about the way customers are treated here. It’s unfortunate, because we’ve visited a few times due to the convenient location and decent food. But after this experience, I’ll never return. The way we were treated was completely...

I was saddened to have had such a bad experience here. After goggling for breakfast spots the night before, I was attracted to this place for its spot in the park, and of course the reviews.

Im not sure if we caught the staff on a bad day, however the server was incredibly unfriendly and seemed quite disgruntled when I preferred to pay cash over card. When asked for salt, we were scowled at as if we were supposed to know where everything was, despite being there for the first time.

However, the worse was yet to come...from our table, we had a clear view into the kitchen. From here, I saw the cook handle raw sausages and raw bacon, push the rubbish down further into the bin, handle cakes, and even rearrange food in the fridge out front, whilst wearing the SAME pair of gloves. From that, I felt so nauseous that I couldn't finish my own plate of food. I found i was wanting to leave all of my smoked salmon (who knows what was handled prior to that being placed on my plate) and most of my brown "smashed" avocado - of which resembled more of a salsa mixed guacamole. At least the eggs were cooked well.

Having worked 30 years in hospitality both in kitchens and front of house, I'm very much aware how important good customer service is - as well as excellent food handling hygiene. This was not on the specials board today,...

Pistachios In The Park is simply one of the most charming, friendliest cafes that clearly takes no shortcuts in serving delicious food of the highest quality. Set in formal, tree-lined garden housing a naval burial site, playground and community centre, the cafe is ideallic for those who want a peaceful ambience. Make no mistake, due to its popularity, it can get very busy but you'll be spolied for choice with space as much as you will with what's on the menu.

Ran by husband and wife team, Gary and Victoria and their wonderful team, you can rest assured you'll be met with a warm welcome, fun banter, and chit chat like youre one of the locals, (Even if you're not.)

I personally come for the cooked full English breakfast but there is plenty of choice on offer! Everything from sweet pastries, more savoury snacks, all of which are homemade, delicious salads and variety of hot and cold beverages to wash it down with.

All the staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. If you fancy something that might not be obviously on the menu, the team will endeavour to make it for you (within fair reason, of course)

If you've not yet visited Pistachios in the Park cafe, and you want someting a little away from the regular side of Greenwich, with exemplary quality, this is your spot. You...

The best quiche I have ever had. Same goes about baba ganoush. I am a keen cook and prepare everything from scratch. When I pay for my cooked food, it is hard to impress me, plus my brother in law is a French chef with the Michelin strat restaurants experience. Hence, when I say Pistachios in the Park is absolutely amazing, you have to trust me! Everything is made in-house, fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. It's definitely worth a visit. An absolute germ with a pleasant view of the greenery outside and relaxed atmosphere. Deborah and Garry will look after you well and you will be asking for their recipes!!! Thank you for yet again unforgettable experience! ❤️

Decided to stretch my legs as I charged my car in ikea. Took a 10 min walk through really cute and quiet backstreets of Greenwich to get here. It’s a lovely cafe at the back of this lil park/old grave yard. The locals are friendly and their are lot of kids about enjoying their weekends. The food and coffee was great. I had a oat flat white and avo on toast.. and took with me some of the delicious cakes to share with my family. The menu has a lot on it and looking at other peoples plates - it’s just as delicious as I had. If like me your someone who actively try’s to support independent small business please do come here. Worth a visit! ❤️
