Fisherman Greenwich — Restaurant in London

Regular cod, large chips, sausage in batter and a saveloy. The cod was 90% batter…a total ripoff… large chips were a small portion and the saveloy was dried out. We called to complain but the owner wasn’t present… although the cook said they’re told what to serve …. It really was a huge disappointment… shameful … won’t ever purchase from them again… bring back the Fisherman’s inn!

The response of buy a large cod is totally irrelevant!! You pay £6 and should get a decent bit of fish NOT JUST BATTER!! As the owner your responses are incredibly dismissive and your sorry for the inconvenience. You are nothing but pure greedy and maybe actually listen to the complaint instead of selling something that is below standard - you’ve offered nothing to people who paid good hard earned money and you deliver low quality batter and no fish!!! I ordered 1 regular cod,1 regular haddock and 1 large chips through deliveroo - £28.83. According to the app the food was prepared straight away and was ready for the rider to collect it. But it took nearly 1 hour for the driver to finally reach the shop and collect the food. In the meantime I called the shop worried that my food would get cold while sitting there but I was told that a new order would be prepared for me so that the food would be fresh. The food finally came with 1 hour delay. It was warm but the haddock was pretty invisible. It was 90% batter and a very thin stripe of fish. And the batter was not even nice. I couldn't even eat it. I was so disappointed and of course I will never order food from this shop again as it is a waste of...

I really want to support local businesses during this time but dear god, you cannot be a 'cash only' business and expect to survive in 2020. Is this a money laundering scheme or something? Sometimes this place accepts card but on multiple occasions its randomly been cash only. The last time this happened I was travelling back from work and skipped going to a fish and chip shop in town so I could support my local, and was unable to buy from there with a card. No-one under 60 has carried cash for at least the last 5 years. Even corner shops accept card now. Update to the 21st century if you want to make it through...
