I recently celebrated my birthday at Pizza Express in Teddington, and I must highlight the exceptional service provided by Elena, Matilda, and Kasia. Their dedication and professionalism made my birthday dinner truly special and memorable.

From the moment we arrived, Elena's warm welcome set a festive tone for the evening. Her friendly demeanor and attention to detail ensured that our group was comfortably seated and promptly attended to. Elena's knowledge of the menu and her thoughtful recommendations helped us choose the perfect dishes for our celebration.

Matilda's efficiency and attentiveness throughout the meal were outstanding. She was always nearby, ready to assist without being intrusive. Her impeccable timing ensured that our courses were served promptly, and she made sure our drinks were never empty. Matilda's genuine enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile, including arranging a surprise birthday dessert, added a special touch to the celebration.

Kasia's contribution to our experience was equally impressive. Her expertise in handling our orders, accommodating special requests, and ensuring everything was prepared to perfection was remarkable. Kasia's professionalism and commitment to providing top-notch service greatly enhanced our overall enjoyment of the evening.

Together, Elena, Matilda, and Kasia created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel valued and celebrated. Their teamwork, combined with their individual strengths, resulted in a seamless and delightful dining experience. Disappointing on portion sizes - we left the restaurant wondering if in fact we were still hungry.

I hadn't eaten at a Pizza Express for at least a decade and convinced my husband we should give it a whirl. I used to enjoy it and wanted to try it again - this was an itch I needed to scratch.

I ordered what I thought was a Buddha Bowl. This dish has found its way onto many menus now and is usually a nourishing, satisfying and filling collection of nuts, pulses, grains and colourful veg. Sadly, I got what felt like a half portion buddha bowl. There was plenty of mindful chewing going on to make sure I was aware of every morsel!

On more careful reading the menu does have the Buddha Bowl in the Salad section with a calorie estimate beside it so perhaps I should have expected it to be light on substance. On the other hand, salads can be satisfying, nourishing, delicious and filling - choosing to eat salad ought not to leave one hungry.

My husband's pizza was lightly cooked, which I accept some people prefer, but when a lightly cooked pizza is served onto a cold ceramic plate it starts to cool very quickly. The pizza did not feel hot when it arrived at our table.

There is no mention of pizza size on the menu - or none we could see. Had we known the standard pizza size was so small we would have ordered a larger size.

As I said up top we left the restaurant wondering if we were still hungry and discussing what we had at home to fill the gap.

Every week after swimming lessons, we have some very hungry little ones—and this place never lets us down. With a toddler who has a dairy allergy, myself being wheat intolerant, and my partner allergic to eggs, finding somewhere that caters to all of us isn’t easy. But here, we always feel safe and well looked after.

The staff are genuinely amazing. They know our kids by name and always greet us with a smile. They consistently go the extra mile to make sure we have a great experience, and it really feels like they care. It’s our go-to spot for a relaxed, family-friendly meal.

A special shoutout to Kasia—she’s our absolute favourite! We connected instantly after discovering we’re from the same country, and now it feels like visiting a friend every time we’re there. We also love seeing Azzurra and Simon, the managers, who always take the time to stop by and chat. That personal touch makes all the difference.

The warm, welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful service, and great food keep us coming back. Plus, the Pizza Express app is a nice bonus—we’ve saved quite a bit with their offers, which just gives us another reason to visit.

Highly recommend for families with dietary needs—or anyone who enjoys great pizza and even better service.

P.S. Please bring back BRUNO pizza or make a new similar one - that was my favourite since it was introduced (all though I always swapped the blue cheese for goats cheese...
