Absolutely rude staff which made the already slow service even more shambolic.
Waited a few minutes just to be acknowledged Male staff finally came and just pointed at the table where we should be seated, didn't even take us there We were not provided with menu, and waited a 5 minutes to see if anyone would bring a menu. Nobody did. Asked a female staff for a menu, was told two seconds and did not return Had to ask the manager for a menu who gave me attitude for bothering her. When the female staff came to take our order straight away she said, "if you're using kids eat free you can't use any other discounts" rudely - we've not even said a word yet. IF YOU DON'T LIKE PEOPLE USING YOUR OFFERS DO NOT MAKE THEM AVAILABLE Food took ages to arrive. Around 20+ mins for starters and even longer for the mains! When asked for cheese and chilli oil male staff just walked off without acknowledging the request and dumped the items requested on table after. I then flagged he forgot the pizza cutter, he walked away again without mumbling a single word again and threw the pizza cutter on the table instead of passing onto me. When asking for the dessert and pizza box, female staff said she would return and again did not return. Had to go up to the manager and asked again, to have this sorted.
No apologies provided at all times. I am a frequent pizza express customer and this was shambolic and very insulting service. What a mess this restaurant is!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AND I WILL NOT BE...
Read moreYesterday, on Sunday 10th December, I visited your shop in the shopping centre in Romford with my family. There were only a few tables with people already eating. However, the table we were invited to sit at was extremely wet. I asked the waitress for something to dry it, but she replied, "It's only water." I found her response quite unprofessional and inappropriate.
After waiting for 25 minutes, no one came to take our order for drinks or food. My kids were restless and running around, so I decided to take them to the nearest restaurant next door to have a meal. That turned out to be a good decision, and we enjoyed our meal there.
I'm disappointed with the unsatisfactory service at your PizzaExpress shop. I would like you to pass on this feedback to the management and ask for an explanation for this poor experience.

The restaurant was not very busy as well, and I'm appalled by the level of the customer service there.There were balloons in the restaurant and my daughter wanted one, I asked a waiter if I could take a balloon, the lady said yes of course and brought one for my daughter. After a while another waiter came and asked us from where my daughter got the balloon and we explained that a lady was kind enough to give us one. She grabbed the balloon from my daughter and said sorry it's not for you, there is a party going on and it's from there. I was shocked. I told her sure but you must be having another one, she rudely replied saying we don't have anymore, we have the exact number of balloons. Now tell me which party has exact number of balloons when there are kids coming over? Never seen such a service. My daughter was visibly upset by the way the lady took the balloon from her. It took a long time for me to explain to my daughter who kept on repeating that the lady was not kind. She kept asking me "mummy we are supposed to be kind, why was the lady not kind".
