Worth a go, for the entire experience, not so much just for the food.
Ambience/Location: 5/5 This is located inside Nag's Head Market. The market itself is lively and diverse. It has a wide selection of small food stores/stalls, all with some tables. There is "The Upper Place" on the second floor, which is very hip and modern, with communal tables and more food and drink options. The Upper Place and the market was my favourite part of this experience.
Service: 5/5 Everyone was super friendly. Food was served relatively fast given it was busy.
Food: 3/5. The blue corn tacos were nice. The three tacos were small, although they had a nice amount of meat on them. All three (chicken, beef and pork) had the same sauce and condiments on top, which was a bit disappointing as their flavours blended together. At £15 for 3 tacos, you may leave hungry if this is the only thing you get. The quesadilla was good (although I'm not sure it has cheese? Was it suppose to?).
Price: 2/5. They were very expensive, especially for the area. In the last 7 months, their prices have gone up 50%, which is disappointing for a local business. I guess they are capitalising on the buzz they are getting now, but three tacos for £15 is expensive for anywhere in London, but even more so here and for their size.
Overall, if you are by the area, stop by and enjoy Nag's Head Market, and if you fancy,...
Read moreFood is good but not worth the near 1 hour wait combined with dreadful and rude service.
Me and partner ordered 3 tacos each and ended up waiting 50-60 minutes while watching multiple people who had ordered 20-30 minutes after us receive their food before us.
For the final 15 minutes of our wait we were told our order was next by the man who took our order but when I asked another worker if the 3 birria tacos that had just been left on the counter by him for over 5 minutes were my order he said no they were for someone else (who had ordered 30 minutes after us) in a rude a way.
When I asked him why people who ordered after us were getting their food first despite us waiting nearly an hour for a very small order the same man was again rude and acted as if I was being unreasonable.
When the food finally came none of the workers were apologetic or showed any sign caring how poorly they dealt with our order.
My partner also ordered 3 tacos but was only given 2. The man who ordered just before had the same issue but at least he got his order in 20-30 mins instead of 55 mins.
Incredibly disappointed as this place was plastered across social media and I was very excited to try some authentic birria tacos.
Me and my partner will not be returning which is a shame as the food was quite nice but the whole experience was ruined by dreadful service and one particularly rude...
Read moreWe heard the wonderful mariachi music from around the corner of this place and headed straight to them! We were served by the lovely, enthusiastic Amparito and ordered the great 3 taco & a drink for £15 offer. Don’t miss the delicious drinks on offer (the tamarind one was one of my favourite tastes ever, I want to drink that every single day). Finally some authentic mexican food, all home cooked and freshly cooked down to the tortillas and the salsa verde. Such fresh ingredients and finally a vegan option that isn’t boring, the cactus tacos were a highlight - I can’t compare this to anything I’ve had before. We sat in to eat and couldn’t stop smiling at the staff who danced and sang whilst they worked, it brought a buzz to the place and naturally a crowd of people to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. They dealt with the crowd of people very well for just the 2 of them. It’s a fairly unassuming market but just follow the music to lead you to this place and have some of the best tacos you will ever eat, you won’t be disappointed, it’s worth the wait. Can’t believe I’ve not been here before but I will certainly be back! I even bought 2 more tacos to take home to show my partner how good this food is. Thanks so much for your wonderful food, vibes and hospitality - muchas...
